Grade Memory Work

2016-2017 School Year

Students are expected to do one memory verse each week. They will be allowed to
recite it or use a fill-in-the blank sheet. Students may do this on any day,
Wednesday through Friday, on the week it is due. Memory work must be finished
on one of these days in order to get full credit. Students will be allowed to turn in
late memory work on the following Monday, but 10% will be deducted from the
grade. Any late memory work after that will not be accepted. Memory work will
count for 25% of a students religion grade.

1st Trimester

Week 1 (August 15th-19th):
From childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able
to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 2 Timothy 3:15

Week 2 (August 22nd-26th):
All scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for
correction, and for training in righteousness. 2 Timothy 3:16

Week 3 (August 29th-September 2nd):
These are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the son of God,
and that by believing you may have life in His name. John 20:31

Week 4 (September 6th-9th):
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with
all your mind and with all your strength. You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
Mark 12:30-31

Week 5 (September 19th-23rd):
Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed. John 20:29

Week 6 (September 26th-30th):
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God
prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10

Week 7 (October 3rd-7th):
For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 3:11

Week 8 (October 10th-14th):
Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the
forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Acts 2:38


Week 9 (October 24th-28th):
Be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and
gave Himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. Ephesians 5:1-2

Week 10 (October 31st-November 4th):
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
James 4:7

Week 11 (November 7th-11th):
For those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called
according to His purpose. Romans 8:28


2nd Trimester


Week 12 (November 14th-18th):
For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for
your sake He became poor, so that you by His poverty might become rich. 2
Corinthians 8:9

Week 13 (November 28th- December 2nd):
So Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second
time . . . to save those who are eagerly waiting for Him. Hebrews 9:28

Week 14 (December 5th-9th):
For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you
were redeemed . . . but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or
defect. 1 Peter 1:18-19

Week 15 (December 12th-16th):
Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 15:57

Week 16 (January 9th-13th):
Blessed be God, because He has not rejected my prayer or removed His steadfast
love from me! Psalms 66:20

Week 17 (January 16th-20th):
Call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will hear you. Jeremiah 29:12

Week 18 (January 23rd-27th):
He who conceals his sins does not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces
them finds mercy. Proverbs 28:13


Week 19 (January 30th-February 3rd):
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with
all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You
shall love your neighbor as yourself. Matthew 22:37-39

Week 20 (February 6th-10th):
As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from
us. Psalms 103:12

Week 21 (February 13th-17th):
Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set
before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of
the throne of God. Hebrews 12:2

Week 22 (February 20th-24th):
Repenr, then, and turn to God so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of
refreshing may come from the Lord. Acts 3:19

3rd Trimester

Week 23 (February 27 -March 3 ):

One Lord, one faith, one Baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and
through all and in all. Ephesians 4:5-6

Week 24 (March 6th-10th):
Put on then, as Gods chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts,
kindness, humility, meekness, and patience. Colossians 3:12

Week 25 (March 13th-17th):
This is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as an
atoning sacrifice for our sins. 1 John 4:10

Week 26 (March 20th-24th):
He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom
He poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having
been justified by His grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.
This is a trustworthy saying. Titus 3:5-8

Week 27 (April 3rd-7th):
There is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by
God. Romans 13:1

Week 28 (April 10th-14th):
Honor your father and mother (this is a first commandment with a promise), that it
may go well with you and that you may live long in the land. Ephesians 6:2-3

Week 29 (April 17th-21st):
Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins.
1 Peter 4:8

Week 30 (April 24th-28th):
Shine as lights in the world, holding fast to the word of life. Philippians 2:15-16

Week 31 (May 1st-5th):
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with
thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. Philippians 4:6-7

Week 32 (May 8th-12th):
Be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ
forgave you. Ephesians 4:32

Week 33 (May 15th-19th):
My word . . . shall not return to Me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I
purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it. Isaiah 55:11

Week 34 (May 22nd-26th):
Jesus said, I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father
except through Me. John 14:6
