This entry is from the Siemens Industry Online Support. The general terms of use
(http://www.siemens.com/terms_of_use) apply.

Security Siemens provides products and solutions with industrial security functions that
informa- support the secure operation of plants, solutions, machines, equipment and/or
tion networks. They are important components in a holistic industrial security
concept. With this in mind, Siemens products and solutions undergo continuous
development. Siemens recommends strongly that you regularly check for
product updates.
For the secure operation of Siemens products and solutions, it is necessary to
take suitable preventive action (e.g. cell protection concept) and integrate each
component into a holistic, state-of-the-art industrial security concept. Third-party
products that may be in use should also be considered. For more information
about industrial security, visit http://www.siemens.com/industrialsecurity.

1 Migration of STEP 7 V5.x projects

The STEP 7 Portal V12 / V13 fully supports the migration from STEP 7 V5.x
projects with SINAMICS G inverters, which were configured using GSD / GSDML
files.
The STEP 7 Portal V12 / V13 with StartDrive V12 / V12 SP1 does not supported
the migration of STEP 7 V5.x projects with SINAMICS G120 / G120C / G120P /
G120D inverters, which were configured using Drive ES / STARTER / SCOUT.
The following steps must be performed in order that a project can be migrated into
the STEP 7 Portal V12 / V13:

1 Backup parameter settings

NOTE It is only necessary to back up the parameters if the parameter settings have still
not been transferred/saved in the inverters.

Open the project in the SIMATIC Manager of the STEP 7 V5.x,

Open STARTER / SCOUT from the SIMATIC Manager:
Select the inverter in the project tree;
Call the menu by right clicking on the "Commissioning" button and select

"Open object".

STARTER / SCOUT opens.

Using the "Connect with selected target devices" button , go online with the
inverters in the project

Using the "Load to target system" button , load the parameter settings into
the inverter.
Select the individual inverters in the project tree and

Using the "Copy RAM to ROM" button save the settings in the EEPROM
of the selected inverter.
Go offline with the inverter in the project using the "Disconnect from target
system" button

2 Delete the inverter from the project

Option 1:
Open the project in STARTER / SCOUT.
Select the inverter in the project tree.
Right-click and select "Delete.
Save and compile the project using the "Save and compile" button.

Alternatively, the inverter can be deleted from the project as follows:

Option 2:
Delete the inverter from the HW Config in SIMATIC Manager.
Save and compile the HW Config.
Open, save and compile the project in STARTER / SCOUT.

3 Migrating the project

Opening the STEP 7 Portal V12/V13
Change into the project view.
In the menu "Project", select the command "Migrate project".

The "Migrate project" dialog box is opened.

1. Specify the path and the file names for the project to be migrated in the
"Source path" field. Select a project in the format of the initial starting project.
2. Activate the "Include hardware configuration" check box in order to include the
hardware configuration in the migration.
3. Select a name for the new project in the "Project name" field.
4. In the "Target path" field, select a path in which the new project should be
created.
5. In the "Author" field, enter your name or the name of another person who is
responsible for the project.
6. Now select "Migrate"

4 Creating and configuring inverters:

This example shows how a SINAMICS G120 with Control Unit CU240E-2 PN-F
and Power Module PM240 can be created in the STEP 7 Portal with StartDrive.

Creating the inverter:

In the project, open "Devices & networks"
Select the CU240E-2 PN-F in the hardware catalog.
This can be found under "Drives & Starter -> SINAMICS drives -> SINAMICS
G120 -> Control modules -> CU240E-2 PN-F".
Drag the CU240E-2 PN-F into the project

NOTE For inverters and Control Units with PROFIBUS interface (e.g. G120C DP,
CU240E-2 DP) only the correct PROFIBUS address has two be set under the
"Properties" tab under "PROFIBUS address".
For PROFIBUS, the drive name is not relevant.
Otherwise, the procedure when creating and configuring the inverter with
PROFIBUS interface is the same as inverters with PROFINET interface.
