The Importance of Being Able to Speak in English

We all know that these days we are living in the modern era. An era where English has been very close to our daily lives.
When we play games, most of the games that we played are in English. There is a lot of products in the market are also
using English. Dont forget the place where we eat, restaurants, food courts, many of the menus are using English. By
looking at all of these things, we may conclude that English has filled every moments in our daily lives. It has been very
important.

There are a lot of reasons why we need to start learning to speak in English;

1. By the influence of the world developments happening in globalization era, there has been a lot of impacts in so
many countries, especially in Indonesia. Many foreign companies are opening their branch in Indonesia, opening
jobs to our people. Looking at these facts, our skill to speak English is being needed. These companies need
employees who could understand and speak English well to operate.

2. Our ability to speak English would also be very useful when we have the opportunities to travel overseas. As
tourists, of course we wouldnt use Bahasa Indonesia, because they will never understand what we are talking
about. Even our body language also have its limitations, would not be good enough to make them understand.
Only English that could help us to have better communications with them.

3. English also has a very strong influence in the business world. It will cost the businessmen some big loss if they
miss the chance to work with some foreign clients, just because they cant speak English.

4. English is the world-standard language for scientific purposes. To do research, studying science, reading
literatures, we need to have at least a strong basic skill of English.

5. In education, English also has a very important position. Starting from kindergarten, elementary schools, until
universities, all of them has introduce English as an important objects of study for their students. Some of them
even have English days where everybody have to speak English during the days. With these efforts, we hope
that our younger generations would have a strong ability to go forward and survive in the world competitions.

6. At last, as what Im doing right now with our friends here, our English skill is also being tested in this competition.
I hope this event would strongly motivate us and a lot more people to study English better.

My conclusion, by looking at all of those facts, we should understand that English skill is very much needed and have a
strong importance in our daily lives.

Never only be a passive learner. We should not just stop on being able to understand or read English, passively. We need
to go forward by practicing our speaking and conversation skills, fluently.

Language, is one of the most important part of communication for human being. From now on, lets improve our English
skill day by day, so we could look forward to have a better future. Would you still doubt it?

In the name of Allah, the most gracious, the most merciful.

First of all, lets praise Allah SWT, our dearest lord, the highest power in this world.

May Allah always given us health, mercy and happiness for this ummah until the hereafter.

With his blessings, we can attend this competition without any big obstacles around.

May shalawat and salaam always be with our prophet Muhammad SAW. He has been sent by Allah SWT for us as a great
messenger, guiding us from the darkness into enlightenment. From the unknown to become knowledgeable. From our
weaknesses to become strength and capable of doing many good things.
