Yes, you're right. Ive just thought up of some simple ways for anyone who is
interested in improving their English. I myself am trying to improve in this language
each day. Theres always so much to learn and it can be really fun! We just need to
have the passion and enthusiasm to better ourself.
1. This is what most people would advise: read. Read anything and everything in
English. We can read story books, newspapers, magazines, blogs, comics,
English textbooks, instructions and ingredients on food packages,
advertisements, etc. For story books, dont force ourself to read something too
difficult or something we know we wont enjoy. Make reading fun! Read books
that we enjoy reading.
2. Watch English movies with subtitles. This would be our favourite way of
learning English. Not only do we get to have a fun time watching the movie,
Id be learning new words at the same time and knowing how to pronounce
them! Usually, we can get movies with English subtitles on DVDs.
3. Listen to English songs. Read the lyrics as we listen to the songs. Listen to
our favourite songs and sing along to them.
4. Start a blog in English. This is one way for us to practice our writing. Blog on
something that we love. If we are a fan of movies, start a blog and write about
our favourite movies, our favourite characters, what we think could be
improved in the movie, what new movies to expect next year, etc. Besides
blogging, try joining online forums, engage in online chatting and more.
7. * If we wanna grow in our job we need to know good English. It has become
as important as Degrees and Diplomas.
9. * Learning English can also help us to meet new people, if we are traveling
places we wont face any problem.
10. * Of the estimated 200 million users of the Internet, some 35% communicate
in English.
11. * English is the main language of books, newspapers, airports and air-traffic
control, international business and academic conferences, science,
technology, diplomacy, sport, international competitions, pop music and
advertising.
Communication
English has official or special status in at least seventy five countries with a
total population of over two billion.
One out of four of the world's population speak English to some level of
competence; demand from the other three-quarters is increasing.
Sources: British Council & Eurobarometer 50 *This includes the 16 per cent of EU
citizens who speak English as their first language.
Of the estimated 200 million users of the Internet, some 36% communicate in
English.
Most professional jobs require a good level in English think how impressive
"excellent level in English" will look on your CV.
Technical skills are essential in modern industries and you need to be able to
both read and write technical English if you are going to maintain your
technical competence.
