1.0 INTRODUCTION

Based on Merriam- Webster dictionary, multimedia is a technique (as the combining of

sound, video, and text) for expressing ideas (as in communication, entertainment, or art) in
which several media are employed; also means something (as software) using or facilitating
such a technique while software means something used or associated with and usually
contrasted with hardware such as the entire set of programs, procedures, and related
documentation associated with a system and especially a computer system specifically the
computer programs and also materials for use with audio and visual equipment. In simple
words, software is a programs that run on a computer and perform certain functions. Hence,
multimedia software is a program that have a certain function such as a technique of
combining sound, video, audio and text for expressing ideas.In choosing a software, the user
should think about the usability, animations, smoothness, integration, delivery, user
friendliness and clientele in order to get a wonderful presentation, videos and animation.

2.0.1 Prezi (Presentation Software with Animation)

Prezi is a presentation tool that can be used as an alternative to traditional slide

making programs such as PowerPoint. Instead of slides, Prezi makes use of one large canvas
that allows you to pan and zoom to various parts of the canvas and emphasize the ideas
presented there. Prezi supports the use of text, images, and videos and also provides a
collection of templates to choose from to help new users get accustomed to the interface.

The advantages of using Prezi are it is easy to use and have interesting and smooth
transition. Furthermore, it is also have variety of templates to choose that can make your
presentation more lively and interesting. It is so colourful and can attract other people to
watch and focus to our presentation.

The disadvantages of this Prezi software are it is cannot do the editing and presentation in
offline mode. Moreover, it is also cannot be printed out.

2.0.2 Online video maker

Windows Movie Maker is formerly known as Windows Live Movie Maker since in
Windows 7. It is video editing software by Microsoft. It is released on 14 April 2000 about
16 years ago and it is a freeware. It is a part of Windows Essentials software suite and offers
the ability to create and edit videos as well as to publish them
on OneDrive, Facebook, Vimeo, YouTube, and Flickr.

The advantages of this Video Movie Maker are it have simple step to convert either
audio or video. The user just have to open the website and then just follow the steps that are
available in the site. It is also have a good quality sound system and it is supported some of
file format such as for audio, the user can use .mp3, .wma format and for the video, the user
can use .mp4, .avi .

The disadvantages of Video Movie Maker online is the software always freeze and it is
difficult the user when it is freeze in half of the work. Secondly, it is also sometimes crashes,
so it is wasted our time for using this application because there are more good online
application and software at the internet.

2.0.3 Google Slide

Google Slides is a presentation program respectively, all part of a free, web-

based software office suite offered by Google within its Google Drive service. The suite
allows users to create and edit files online while collaborating with other users in real-
time.The application are available as web applications, and as mobile
apps for Android and iOS. The apps are compatible with Microsoft Office file formats. The
suite is tightly integrated with Google Drive. All files created with the apps are by default
saved to Google Drive.

The advantages of using the google slide are it is about the same features and
function as Microsoft Power Point but it is an online software, so the user do not have to
waste the internet to download the software because sometimes it is take time to download
some application if the connection is slow. In addition, it is also colourful and easy to use
which it is user friendly. The third one is it is also can be save to Microsoft Power point to do
further editing. Last but not least, the user can import variety type of theme from the website.

The disadvantages of Google Slide is sometimes it is also freeze and maybe have bug
problem. The developer should at least fix the bug problem.

 2.0.4 Canva

Canva is a
design presentations, social media graphics and more with
thousands of beautiful layouts. It has

everything that the user need for

amazing design.

The advantages of canva software are it have so many choices of

interesting layout for presentation. There is also so many type of fonts
that the user did not have to be download. It is also multi-function and
have so many features to create logo, posters, presentation and photo
editing. It is also direct saving and easy to save.

The disadvantage is it is a watermark that can only be remove after

getting the premium.

2.0.5 KIZOA

Kizoa is a

slideshow and movie maker application.

The advantages of kizoa are, it have so many effect and template that are
interesting. Secondly, it is enable to share or upload your audio from the
computer into your presentation. Furthermore, it is easy to use and user
friendly. Last but not least, it heve a cloud storage and web design.

The disadvatages of it needs to download a player to burn it into the DVD

and just have only 1 GB storage. Lastly, only 10 seconds video that can be
use in free account.

3.0PREMIUM MULTIMEDIA SOFTWARE

3.0.1 Microsoft Powerpoint

The advantages:

1-it is user friendly and it is so easy to use.

2- it is so organised and enable to present it nicely and neatly.

3- the user can save it and printed it out after finish the work

The disadvantages

1-it have so many options that can be include in this powerpoint

presentation. There are so many options like colours, shape,sound and
others.

2-it has less choice of layout and design which cannot make the
presentation attractive.

3.0.2 Sony Vegas Pro

The Advantages:

1. It is also have several new professional level features.

2. Has many effects and filters for the video editing
3. It is a professional video editing software.

The Disadvantages:

1. It is an expensive software to be purchased.

2. Sony Vegas Pro is well-known as not beginner friendly video editing software.

3.1.3 Adobe After Effect

The Advantages :

1. User-friendly
2. Provides cheaper lecturer price.
3. There is a lot of plug-ins and extensions.

The Disadvantages:

1. It is too expensive and not affordable for students.

2. Not a beginner friendly.

 4 CONCLUSION

Multimedia is content that uses a combination of different content forms such as text, audio,
images, animations, video and interactive content. Multimedia contrasts with media that use
only rudimentary computer displays such as text-only or traditional forms of printed or hand-
produced material.

Multimedia can be recorded and played, displayed, interacted with or accessed

by information content processing devices, such as computerized and electronic devices, but
can also be part of a live performance. Multimedia devices are electronic media devices used
to store and experience multimedia content. Multimedia is distinguished from mixed
media in fine art; by including audio, for example, it has a broader scope. The term "rich
media" is synonymous for interactive multimedia. Hypermedia scales up the amount of media
content in multimedia application.
