Shipping System Interface

Introduction

This document provides an overview of the X3 information that is available within Fedex Ship Manager
with typical X3 configuration/setup. The Sage ERP X3 Shipping System interface does not claim to
support all features provided within the software. Federal Express may change the version content and
functionality without notifying Sage. This document is provided as an overview and details, screen
layouts, etc. may change without notice. Details on the operation of the Ship Manager software is
provided in the FedEx documentation

Enter the shipment number from X3. Note, it has to be a FEDEX shipment to be picked up by the
interface. Note: A wedge scanner significantly expedites this step.

After the shipment number is entered, the name, address and other shipment information are
displayed. Note: For the Fedex interface to pick up the COD charges, packaging information and
a weight must be passed to Fedex. The default weight value is 10 lbs.

The amount passed through to the shipment is the total amount of the shipment including all
invoice element charges and taxes.

Once the shipment number is entered, the package can be placed on the scale and the weight
recorded. If it is a shipment requiring more than 1 package and the package information in X3 is
being driven from Fedex, the number of packages can be specified.

The FedEx interface to X3 is set up to create the tracking and packaging information at the time
of shipping rather than at the time of close. In this case, the information is immediately written to
the Fedex to X3 interface table.
