How to Install the Fixed Assets add-on in V5.

The following instructions explain how to load the fixed assets add-on in V5.1.

Log into the X3 reference folder using the admin user ID

Go to Folders/ Folders

Click on the X3 folder

On line 14 (Fixed Assets) set the field to Yes and then click on Save
Click on the TRAINV5 folder
On line 14 (Fixed Assets) set the field to Yes and then click on Save
Continue this exercise for each folder that will be utilizing fixed assets

Go to Development/ Utilities/ Dictionary/ Dictionary Copy

Source Folder: X3
Destination Folder: TRAINV5
Check all fields as shown below. Note on the right-hand side only line 14
(Fixed Assets) is set to Yes
Click on OK
Repeat this exercise for all applicable destination folders

Copy the FIX.dat file into the applicable directory in your X3 folder designated for
patches

Go to Development/ Utilities/ Patch/ Patch Integration

Define the fields as shown below referencing the correct directory path were
you saved the FIX.dat file
Click on OK

Go to Parameters/ Accounting Interface/ Automatic Journals

The fixed asset auto journals will now need to be copied from the X3 folder to
all applicable child folders
Select auto journal FIXCT from the left-list
Click on the Copy button in the lower-right
Check All Folders in the pop-up menu.
Click on OK.
Perform this same exercise for all the fixed asset auto journals in the left-list.

o FIXDE
o FIXDI
o FIXRV
o FIXSA
o FIXT1
o FIXT2

 Now log out of the X3 folder and log into the TRAINV5 folder (note this
exercise will be performed on all applicable child folders)

Go to Development/ Utilities/ Dictionary/ Validation

Set all the fields as shown below.

Note in the right-hand list only line 14 (Fixed Assets) is set to Yes
Click on OK
Note this dictionary validation exercise will have to be performed on all
applicable child folders (Pilot, Production, etc.)

 Next log out of the folder and log back in.
You should see the fixed assets menu option.
