REACTION TO
APOLOGETICS WITHOUT APOLOGY

The article Apologetics without Apology of the compilation Catholic Biblical Apologetics is an introduction
of the authors regarding the contents of their work. It aptly defines apologetics as an orderly defense and
justification if the faith. It is express on its aim to present what the Roman Catholic Church teaches, and why.

It is assuring that the contents of the book are based on both Sacred Scriptures and the Churchs Tradition.
It also manifests an ecumenical approach, especially in the use of the methods of Biblical Apologetics, since the Bible
is the greatest point of unity among all Christian believers. It is important nowadays to highlight what is common
among us as Christians instead of criticizing our differences, especially when the faith in general is attacked by many
ideologies and movements around the world. Such an effort now needed when much friction is found present among
many Christian denominations, many of which have turned anti-Catholic. However, the writers are quick to assert
that the Bible is not the sole source of all the things Catholics believe.

The approach of the work which is explaining instead of convincing is a good alley of countering the ardent
proselytizing of other denominations. People get more convinced when they are offered the option of simply getting
to understand instead of insisting to them what they should believe. The articles in the work are presented in a way
devoid of debate, as said by the authors. Such a technique is more apt so as not to spark further rifts among
Christians.

Despite the ecumenical tone of the compilation, it is still expressly concerned for Catholics, both needing to
know their faith more deeply, or are searching for more ways of growing in the faith.
