Lesson Goals
Central Focus of Lesson:

Students will read or watch videos about myths and legends from Latin America.
Students will then be able to compare these newly learned myths to other myths and legends they may know in order to first, gain
cultural insights, and second, develop their own short story with visual representations.

Proficiency Stage 5 (Approximates ACTFL INTERMEDIATE-MID)

presentations and narratives on topics from everyday life.
SL.PS5.IL.02 Infer the meaning of some unfamiliar words and phrases when used in familiar contexts.

Lesson Objectives/Learning Objectives and Demands

Content Objectives:
Students will watch or listen to (using tech devices) videos (in Spanish), and read (in Spanish) the short myth/legend provided.
Students will write down new vocabulary words and their definitions to demonstrate learning and reading comprehension.
Students can work solo (or in small groups) and will be able to identify what countries these specific myths originate from.
Students can choose to discuss with one another and compare the myths they have read in Spanish to stories they may have heard or know
from United States or Europe.
Students will take short
Students will be able to use both old and new acquired vocabulary to make short story with short sentences and include original artwork.
(Artwork can be hand drawn, painted, or photos clipped from magazines.)
