Equipment required
DSLR camera
Battery

Schedule
March 2nd 2017 (Possibly going to change)

Contingency plans
I will be taking a second battery for the DSLR camera
when I go to take the pictures in case the one in the
camera runs out so I will still be able to take the
pictures on the day that I wanted to.
I will make sure that I have a secondary model that I
will be able to use to take my photos in case on the day
my main model is not available for me to use.
If I am planning to my photos outside I will have to
make sure to give myself good time to do this because
if it rains on the day I will still have time to do them.
I will make sure I have spare outfits in case I cant get
the ones that I wanted so I can still take the pictures.

Legal
Copyright law - The current act is the Copyright, Designs and
Patents Act1988. The law gives the creators of literary, dramatic, musical,
artistic works, sound recordings, broadcasts, films and typographical
arrangement of published editions, rights to control the ways in which their
material may be used.

Copyright applies to my fashion spread because I cant copy anybody

elses work that is out there in world or else they will take action and I could
get sued.

Equality act 2010 - A New Equality Act came into force on 1 October 2010.
The Equality Act brings together over 116 separate pieces of legislation into
one single Act. Combined, they make up a new Act that provides a legal
framework to protect the rights of individuals and advance equality of
opportunity for all.

This applies to my fashion spread because I will need to make sure that I
do not discriminate against anybody in my fashion spread.

Defamation act 2013 - The Defamation Act 2013 is an Act of

the Parliament of the United Kingdom, which reformed English defamation
law on issues of the right to freedom of expression and the protection of
reputation. It also comprised a response to perceptions that the law as it
stood was giving rise to libel tourism and other inappropriate claims.

This applies to my fashion spread because I will make sure that I do not put
anything on their damaging any bodies personal reputation.

Intellectual property rights - Intellectual property rights are

the rights given to persons over the creations of their minds. They usually
give the creator an exclusive right over the use of his/her creation for a
certain period of time.
This applies to my fashion spread because I wont be able to steal anybody
elses idea and I need to make sure that I come up with my own idea.

Trespass - Trespass is defined by the act of knowingly entering another

person's property without permission. Such action is held to infringe upon a
property owner's legal right to enjoy the benefits of ownership.

This applies to my fashion spread because I will need to make sure that I
do not trespass on any bodies private land whilst I am taking my photos. If I
am taking them on private land I need to make sure that I have permission.

Privacy - Privacy law refers to the laws that deal with the regulation of
personal information about individuals, which can be collected by
governments and other public as well as private organizations and its
storage and use.

This applies to my fashion spread because I need to make sure that I do

not release any private information about anybody.

Ethical

1. Accuracy
i) The Press must take care not to publish inaccurate, misleading or
distorted information or images, including headlines not supported by the
text.
ii) A significant inaccuracy, misleading statement or distortion must be
corrected, promptly and with due prominence, and where appropriate
an apology published. In cases involving IPSO, due prominence should be
as required by the regulator.
iii) A fair opportunity to reply to significant inaccuracies should be given,
when reasonably called for.
iv) The Press, while free to editorialise and campaign, must distinguish
clearly between comment, conjecture and fact.

v) A publication must report fairly and accurately the outcome of an action

for defamation to which it has been a party, unless an agreed settlement
states otherwise, or an agreed statement is published.
I will apply this to my work by not putting any misleading information on my
fashion spread so it wont mislead people into buying it.

3. *Harassment
i) Journalists must not engage in intimidation, harassment or persistent
pursuit.
ii) They must not persist in questioning, telephoning, pursuing or
photographing individuals once asked to desist; nor remain on property
when asked to leave and must not follow them. If requested, they must
identify themselves and whom they represent.
iii) Editors must ensure these principles are observed by those working for
them and take care not to use non-compliant material from other sources.
I will make sure that I do not harass anybody or take photos of people that
dont want to be on my front cover, this will be breaching the Editors code
of practice.

4. Intrusion into grief or shock

In cases involving personal grief or shock, enquiries and approaches must
be made with sympathy and discretion and publication handled sensitively.
These provisions should not restrict the right to report legal proceedings.
I will not intrude on any bodies private life such as a grief or shock situation, an
example of this would be talking about a domestic abuse in my fashion spread.

6. *Children
i) All pupils should be free to complete their time at school without
unnecessary intrusion.
ii) They must not be approached or photographed at school without
permission of the school authorities.
iii) Children under 16 must not be interviewed or photographed on issues
involving their own or another childs welfare unless a custodial parent or
similarly responsible adult consents.
iv) Children under 16 must not be paid for material involving their welfare,
nor parents or guardians for material about their children or wards, unless it
is clearly in the child's interest.
v) Editors must not use the fame, notoriety or position of a parent or
guardian as sole justification for publishing details of a child's private life.

I will make sure that if I am or taking pictures of people under the age of 16
that I ask their parent or guardian first to make sure that they are ok with
me doing so. I also need to make sure that the person themselves are ok
with me taking the pictures of them.

12. Discrimination
i) The press must avoid prejudicial or pejorative reference to an individual's,
race, colour, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation or to any
physical or mental illness or disability.
ii) Details of an individual's race, colour, religion, gender identity, sexual
orientation, physical or mental illness or disability must be avoided unless
genuinely relevant to the story.
I will make sure on my front cover of my magazine that I do not discriminate
against any bodies race, colour, religion, sex etc. By doing this I would be
putting people off wanting to read the magazine and will give my magazine
a bad reputation.
