Gods creation is not just limited in the physical


creation - compound words are one of it. The
students are expected to determine the existence
of compound words surround them as a way of
realizing that Gods creative hand are not just
about the magnificent creatures but also about
the simple things that help them to live this life.
The students prior knowledge will be tested
with some activities about compound words.
The students will also have English centers that
will be focused on the guided reading and
several differentiation of a learning which
require them to work as a group.

Time Instructional Procedures and Strategies
Beginning the Lesson
20 Review the previous lesson about Compound Word.
mins Have the students sit in the English carpet and prepare them with their own whiteboard and
marker.
Review will be done by showing different pictures and different compound words. The
students will write their answers on their whiteboard. They are required to show their
whiteboard without producing any noise.

15 Developing the Lesson


mins The students will pursuit to their own center and they will work as a group to follow the
instruction carefully in each center. One period of the centers will last for 15 minutes.
The students will need to find Compound Words from the given text.
The teacher will guide the reading team. The students will be ask to carefully read the book
and be alert when they find several compound word on the text.
Before the students start to read the teacher will ask several questions.
From the cover, what do you think that boy is doing?
- Where do you think the sound will come out?
- What can you tell me about the writers purpose of writing this book?
The teacher will supervise each student to read. They will have their own turn to read.
In some point, the teacher will ask several questions.
- Tell me what do you know about sound?
- How is sound produced?
- How does sound travel?
- How do you describe differences in sound?
- What is the difference between a pleasant sound and an unpleasant sound?
- What are the steps of our brain hearing the sound?
When the students finish reading the booklet, the teacher will again ask several questions.
What does the outside part of our ears do with the sound waves?
- Which part of our ears that are very sensitive?
- What part of our body that gives different sound when it vibrates?
15 - How do deaf people listen and talk?
mins After 15 minutes, the other group of students will be switched with the previous group and
this second group will also be supervised in reading the text.

15 Closing the Lesson


mins The remaining time from each period will be used to finish the work sheet. It is a way for the
teacher to check their alertness in finding the compound words on the given text.
