ABBYYFineReaderCLI9.0forLinuxisdesignedforglibcversion2.6.1andabove;thedynamicstandard
libstdc++.so.6andlibgcc_s.so.1librarieshavetobeused.

TheinstallationofABBYYCLIOCRforLinuxisdoneinaninteractiveway,sojustusethedifferentoptions.

Themaininstallationstepsare:

1. Download./abbyyocr.bininstallationpackagefromhttp://www.ocr4linux.com/en:download.
2. Thedefaultinstallationdirectoryis/opt/ABBYYOCR.Ifyouagreetoinstalldistributiontherepleaserun
sudo./abbyyocr.bincommand.Ifyouwouldliketosetupcustominstallationfolderpleaserun
./abbyyocr.bin<installation_directory>command.
Pleasetakeintoaccountthatyouneedenoughaccesswriterightsforthisdirectory.
3. Theinstallationscriptasksyoutoaccepttheenduserlicenseagreement(EULA),thenyoucancreate
linkstobinaryfilesinthesystemdirectory/usr/local/binifneeded.
Evenifyouhavenolinksyoucanstillstartapplicationabbyyocr9directlyfromtheinstallation
directory.

ThistechnologyeffectivelyexcludesunauthorizeduseofABBYYproductsbypersonswhohavenotsigneda
LicenseAgreementwiththesoftwarecopyrightowner.
Important!ABBYYOCRforLinuxwillnotworkwithoutavalidandactivatedserialnumber.

Youmustcopythetextcontaininginformationrequiredforactivationintothemessagebody.Toensure
aquickreplyfromthemailrobot,donotaltertheinformationinthemessagebody.Thisfilehastobe
savedtoinstallationdirectorytocompletetheactivation.

5.ReInstallation
ABBYYOCRforLinux9canbereinstalledononeandthesamecomputeranunlimitednumberoftimeswithout
reactivation.However,ifyoumakemajorupgrades,formatyourharddrive,orreinstalltheoperatingsystem,an
additionalactivationmayberequired.

6.DeactivationandReactivation
ABBYYOCRforLinux9licencecanbedeactivated.Thedeactivatedlicencecanbethenactivatedonanother
computer.Thetotalnumberofalloweddeactivationscanberestrictedbyyourlicence.
DeactivationisalsoexecutedwiththehelpoftheActivationutility(<installation_directory>/ActivateFRE)using
the
"deactivate"parameter.
ThedeactivationcanbeperformedonlyviatheInternet.
Deactivationiscarriedoutautomaticallyandtakesonlyafewseconds.Aninternetconnectionisrequired.
Oncethedeactivationiscomplete,thelicensecanbeactivatedonanothercomputer.

7.UnInstall

Touninstallthedistributionpleaserunthefollowingcommandsunderrootaccount:
rmfR<installationfolder>
rmf/usr/local/bin/abbyyocr(ifyouaddedthesefilesthereduringinstallation).
