The daily agenda is for a Global Studies class. The class will start with a quiz to test their mastery of social changes in 19th century Britain from the previous week. After the quiz, they will begin examining social changes happening at the same time in France and the US. Students should be able to name three social changes in Britain during this period and identify key people, places, and ideas. They will study for 10 minutes, have announcements, take the 20 minute quiz, and work on word maps for 10 minutes. Comparing Britain's history to the US will prepare students to learn about social progress in America.

Why this matters
Britain provides an interesting example with which to compare and contrast social movements in the United States. Slaves, women, and workers all made major gains in both countries in the 19th and early 20th centuries, but the routes to progress in the US and Britain were very different. Today, well demonstrate our knowledge of Britains history, which will prepare us to learn more about progress in the United States.
