Procedures and Rules Assignment

Area Procedure
Beginning of school /period
How will students enter the room? Students will enter the room and go directly to their seats. Seat assignments will begin the year as
an alphabetical assignment in order to learn student names. After this time period student will be
allowed to sit where they please as long as learning is not hindered. If this issue arises a seating
arrangements will be made.
Seat assignments?
What will be expected of students Students will have a daily bellringer or similar assignment. This may be seen in a variety of ways
as soon as they enter your room? such as kahoot, quizizz.com, etc.

Attendance check I will do both a visual scan and will also call out names while students are completing their
bellringer. Visual scan may be all that is required especially if a seating chart is in place.
Tardiness occurs when students have yet to enter the room by the ringing of the tardy bell. First
time offenses will be issued a warning, all offenses after that will be marked as tardy. Classroom

Previously absent students Previously absent students are responsible for all missed work. There will be a makeup folder at
the front for each class that will hold worksheets, handouts, etc. for missed students. Makeup tests
will be given before school or during break unless school has mandated time for such instances.

followed during this time as well.

Class Management

Emergency procedures Emergency procedures will be addressed by using the intercom to alert the office to ask for
assistance. In severe situations first aid can and will be administered as I am both CPR and first aid
certified. Emergency procedures addressing fire, tornado, and intruder alerts will be on a diagram
by the door.

Expected student behavior General student behavior will be in alignment with classroom rules. Respect for others, talking
(general) only with permission or when spoken to, and remaining in ones seat will be expected at all times.

Substitutes Substitutes are to be treated with the same respect as the regular teacher if not more. Failure to
provide said respect could result in severe punishment and revoking of privileges.

Paper Work
What will students bring to class Students should always bring their notebook with paper and pen to class. If textbooks or

Incomplete assignments Students who do not complete assignments fully will receive partial credit of 50% or 75%. If a
student has completed less than 50% of an assignment who will receive a grade of 1%.

Handing out papers/Taking up I will assign a student to hand out papers. I will gather papers at the front of each row. If papers

late work? Makeup work is the responsibility of the student. Handouts and worksheets will be in the class
folder at the front of the room. Students have three days to makeup assignments after returning to

Fire, disaster and intruder drills Drills will be conducted as if the real thing has occurred. All classroom rules apply during the drill.
