2. Main Idea Puzzle: Students will read the article at the table and fill out one
detail on each of the four puzzle pieces and then write the main idea of the
thunderstorm article
3. Main Idea Wheel: Students will come up with their own main idea and write
it in the center circle, then they will draw pictures around the wheel to help
someone guess their main idea.
4. Main Idea Foldable: Students will glue down the foldable into their reading
journals and write the parts of the water cycle under each flap and write the
main idea under the top flap.

Closing Activities 15 mins, individual
