INTRODUCTION

1.1 BACKGROUND

Licensed Land Surveyor is a surveyor given pleasure to carry out surveying work. Normally,
the surveyor would establish a firm or his own company. Surveyors must register his firm with
the Land Surveyors Board of Peninsular Malaysia (LJT) under the ordinance JUBL 1958.
Surveyors role in national development urgently needed in developing the country
accordance with the rapid of knowledge on the latest technology. Land Survey itself is under the
auspices of organizations only profession named the Land Surveyors Board of Peninsular
Malaysia (LJT). These agencies have several sections and measure different fields.
JUPEM is among the oldest government agency in Malaysia where the activity
measurements began in 1885 with the establishment of the Department of Survey Johor.
Beginning from 1885 until 1957, the Departments of State and Topographic Survey was
established, leading to the gradual consolidation of the organization as it is today. In 1965, the
government approved the establishment of the Directorate for State Mapping Malaysian with the
mandate to control the work of surveying, mapping, topography and geodesy.
World Wide Web or commonly known as the web is the most popular internet services. Web
is a service that gathers information. Typically web have hyperlinks (hyperlinks) text, images,
graphics, audio and video. Each web page has a unique address. This address is known as a
Uniform Resource Locator (URL). Each URL contains two main parts which is protocol and
domain name. The protocol usually is http: //, which stands for Hyper Text Transfer Protocol.
Thematic maps is also termed as statistical map or maps specific purpose, namely the use of
space in a particular place in accordance with a specific theme. Compared with the reference
maps showing the geographic specialization such as forests, roads, borders and other
administrative. Thematic maps emphasize variation space of a number or more of the
geographical distribution. This distribution can represent physical phenomena such as climate or
human characteristics such as population density or Health problems. Edmond Harley is a
thematic maps creator. Although it is known for the discovery of comets, Edmond Harley also
recognized as the creator of the first thematic maps with cartography expertise is recognized. In
1686, Halley produce a map of a small copper engraving depicting the direction of the trade
winds in the Atlantic Ocean.
1.2 PROBLEM STATEMENT

The opening story in problem discussion in this website various problems which emerged
in aspect terms of seeking relevant agencies land. Institution of Higher Learnings student is an
example of information and activity seekers carried out by land offices in Malacca. However,
some agencies related to land have no distinctive website. Therefore, students is difficult to seek
information and activity carried out by agencies.
From own writer's observation, student that will face industrial training had problem in
choosing a place to undergo industrial training. Problem that often face by students is agency
position related to land also difficult to find because the agency does not give correct information
like some inaccurate agencies coordinate position land.
From writer's observation, landowner and developer having a difficulty of getting related
services on their land matter and there is no website with information about all relevant agencies
land. Therefore, landholders need to access website to every agency to obtain information on the
agency. This cause the high use of time and internet quota.
Landholders and developer companies are having difficulty to obtain information on
relevant agencies land and works made by agencies. In fact not all agencies have their own
website. This is because the agencies' webpage not display the nature of work that they are
carried out.
1.3 OBJECTIVE

1. Develop e-Survey Melaka website.

2. Produce thematic map for locations like JUPEM, PTG, PTD and JUBL in Malacca.
1.4 IMPORTANCE OF STUDY

This site was created to help students who face Industry Training. Students the website
also expected to help students of Institution of Higher Learning on geomatics to get basic
information from an agency in respect of the land. This site can help landowners in Melaka to
obtain information relating to the agencies involved in the transaction of land.
This site can also lead companies to get developers JUBLs information that is related to
the type of measurement to be made before making a development.
1.5 RESEARCH SCOPES

This site aims to geomatics students who will undergo industrial training. This site also
makes it easier for higher learning institutions students in the field of geomatics to get basic
information about a land agency.
This research led to a website that focuses on property owners to obtain information
regarding the JUPEM, PTG, PTD, and JUBL in Malacca. This site was created to make it easier
for property owners in Melaka to obtain information for making a land deal. Developer
companies can access this site for purposes of measurement before making development.
