Hundreds of Words about Texas Constitution

Constitution is defined as a charter plan of government that represents, in essence, a pact

between government and the governed. It is very fundamental for a country to have one as it

identifies mutually agreed powers, duties, obligations and limitations on contracting parties, and

establishes procedures for action, including law-making and citizen-voter participation. It is the

giant guide book for a country like what George Washington, the first President of United States

said The Constitution is the guide which I never will abandon. Talking about the guidance

there should be limitation when it is being applied especially the limitation that state constitution

put on the state government. The limitation is being applied by dividing the government into

three branches which are the legislative branch, that makes the law; the executive branch, that

enforce the law, and the judicial branch, that demonstrate the law and each branches can do

check and balance system to assure that no branch would dominate the others. The reason on the

limitation is to prohibit the government from directly interfering with certain key areas of

conscience, expression and association. Also, the framers of constitution put sort of limitation to

ensure that no one branch, party, or person could get too much power. For instance, the federal

judiciary can declare a law unconstitutional, even if its been passed by the legislature and signed

into law by the executive.

After we know about constitution and its limit, then we should know the effectiveness of

the constitution itself especially the Texas Constitution and how to increase its effectiveness. To

be able to increase Texas Constitution effectiveness, we should know its general characteristics

and after that put some more effort to work out or fix its general characteristic if it does decrease

the effectiveness. The general characteristics of Texas Constitution that also known as the term

that slow down the effectiveness of the constitution are overly long, extremely detailed,
confusing in organization and poorly written. Those characteristics are the problem in Texas

Constitution that can create different kind of interpretation that can produce another with it.

Therefore, the only way to solve that is to amend the constitution in a way to make the

constitution brief, detailed, easy to understand or to interpret and revised the written.
