II. LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

After 15-20 minutes of lecture, the participants will be able to:

Enumerate the signs and symptoms, and verbalize importance of


cleanliness of the environment.
Demonstrate the steps to clean the environment.
Continue to maintain cleanliness of the environment.

The lecture is done through interactive discussion with the participants


and demonstration.

VI. CONTENTS:

What Is Dengue?
The Dengue is a serious disease caused by the bite of the mosquito Aedes aegypti . The
infected person is having high fever that lasts for two to seven days if left untreated, chlamydia
can lead to death. Children are often victims of Dengue. The use of medication
with acetylsalicylic acid such as aspirin and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such
as ibuprofen are not recommended for consumption by people with Dengue.

Symptoms

High fever that lasts two to seven days

Dizziness and nausea of brown vinegar

Muscle, joint and back part of the eye

weakness

And the presence of small red spots on the skin called petechiae

Hemorrhage while lowering fever

Black stools

Causes

The bite of mosquitoes Aedes aegypti is the main cause of Dengue. It's just biting each
morning. Mosquitoes lay their eggs in areas where there is stagnant water such as vases, cans,
drums, buckets, old tires and others.

Currently, only now 2016 has discovered that the experts cure for the deadly disease. Thus
advised all government departments import and spread to different distribution of the country.

The DOH has issued guidelines to prevent Dengue:

Cover the drums and buckets when not in use to prevent the multiplication of
mosquitoes.

Change the water in the vase every week.

Clean the drum and pail to eliminate the mosquito eggs attached to it.

Always clean the gutters of the house so as not to store the rain water that can breed
mosquitoes.

Puncture the old tires that do not accumulate water here.

Store or dispose properly of old cans or bottles.
