designe d and construc ted in accordance with IS - 2026 to be used to supply electric power 6
pulse bridge rectifier associated with our I NDUCTION MELTING FURNACE.

PRIMARY :
Voltage _________KV, 3phase, 50 Hz, DELTA wound 2 %, 5% selected by
means of hand opera ted OFF circuit tapping switch with sui table locking
facilities.

SECONDARY :

1. Voltage 575 volts, 3 phase at full load, 0.95 power factor, arranged in
WYE (DY 11 ) confi guration. The full load rated current is 602 Amps.

2 . Should be capable to deliver full KVA at -10 % of rated voltage. ( i.e. current
will be 669 Amps.)

3 . Neutral not to be gr ound internally or externally. It is to be brought out with

insulator on tank.

4 . To have a n appropri ate electrostatic shield (Earthed Screen) between

Pri mar y and Secondar y windings and s hould be brought out on the terminal
and should not be i nternally ground.

5 . Insulation between se condar y winding a nd earth should ha ve a 10 KV r ms

withstand capacity at all the times to cope with a maxi mum short term fault
volta ge of 3.6 KV r ms relative to ground and 15KV impulse relative to
ground for 2 seconds.

6 . The Transformer shoul d ha ve 4 % i mpe dance at its rated voltage and KVA.

7 . The percentage re gulation should be within 5%.

8 . The temperature rise of winding should be limited to 55 C over continuous

a mbient te mperature of 50C, when deli ve ring full load output KVA. The
temperature rise of oil should be limited to 45C over continuos ambient
temperature of 50 C.

TERMINATION : Primary side - cable box suitable for HT cable.
: Secondary side - Bus ducting arrangement on top.

OTHER IMPORTANT : 1. The effect of harmonics due to 3 phase full wave bridge rectifier is taken
REQUIREMENT / care in specified KVA rating.
NOTES 2. No load and load losses should not exceed the values specified in IS -2026 /

3. The off load tape changing devices must be sturdy and reliable for very
frequent operations.
4. The transformer should be provided with all standard and required fittings and
protection as per IS 2026.
5. The transformer should be provided with intermediate class of lightening
arrestor.(This is an optional requirement)
6. The name plate, terminal making etc. on the transformer should be as per
IS 2026. The plate rated KVA should be full load out put KVA as
mention above.

TESTING : Should be tested for all routing tests as per IS 2026. The copy of test certificate
should be provided. Copy of the type test certificate the identical transformer
should also be provided.

FITTINGS : 1. Conservator with oil level gauge. (To indicate one N/C contact - open at
low lavel)
2. Silica gel breather.
3. Transportation wheels /skid under base.
4. Buchhoz relay with two N/C contacts (alarm & trip) - open in fault condition.
5. Over temperature device with two N/C contacts (alarm & trip) - open in fault
condition.
6. First filling of coolant (suitably flash tested).
