Writing Standards: (Production and Distribution of Writing) (Grades 4 and 5) 4. Produce clear and coherent writing in which the development and organization are appropriate to task, purpose, and audience.
Assignment 1. Interview fellow student in grades 3-5 or teacher / staff member at Mar Vista. You will choose a fellow Mar Vista student in grades 3-5 or a teacher or staff member (aide, principal, custodian, librarian, etc.) and interview them. Question to be asked, What is your proudest moment?
Student will take notes and write one short quote from interview. This will require student to write interview notes and decide what is the most thoughtful and engaging quote.
Student will notify teacher (Ms. Concotelli) of the interviewees (person being interviewed) name and make sure interviewee is giving permission to be interviewed and has a signed photograph release in the Mar Vista office.
2. Photo of person interviewed. After the interview quote is turned in, student will work with teacher and photograph interviewee. Photo should be candid (not posed).
3. Compilation. Teacher will compile all photos and quotes into book and title it, Humans of Mar Vista.
