Consultancy Management

MBA in Consultancy Management is a four-semester Work Integrated Learning Program which leads to a Master s degree in Consultancy
Management. This programme is designed for participants working in Consulting and allied business organizations as well as
professionals managing consultancy projects in other organizations. Due to increasing globalization and competition consultants today
operate in a highly dynamic and complex environment. This course equips the consulting professional with the much needed skills,
strategies and management know-how for successfully managing consultancy projects.
Programme Highlights
The methodology is a combination of class room learning and experiential learning. Experiential learning consists of workshop/ lab
exercises, case studies and work integrated activities.
Workshop/ lab exercises consist of nancial modelling, running business simulations etc.
Case studies consist of analysing a given situation and nding solutions to issues, using the techniques learnt in class.
Work integrated activities consists of reviewing the work performed at the workplace in the context of the concepts and skills learnt in
class, and potentially enhancing the quality of decision making at the workplace using the techniques learnt. This enables the student to
relate the concepts learnt in class to their professional work.
Programme Objectives
The aim of this course is to address the need for skilled professionals in the Consultancy Industry. It will provide the participants with a
good understanding of consultancy practice and the underlying tools and techniques for business process analysis, project management
and strategic change management. The objective is to train the participants to become critical thinkers who can successfully analyze,
manage and run consultancy projects.

Eligibility
Professionals employed in Consultancy Industry and/ or allied business organizations, holding an Integrated First Degree of BITS,
Pilani or its equivalent such as B.E./ M. Sc. in relevant disciplines, with minimum one year relevant work experience.

Employer consent, with suitable mentor availability, is also required.


Curriculum
Students need to take 7 management core courses (mandatory), 4 area core courses (mandatory) and may choose 1 elective course
depending on their background and desired specialization.

Financial and Management Accounting Management core courses provide a basic foundation in management theory and practice.
Managerial Economics They are designed to give participants a solid background across all business disciplines so
Quantitative Methods as to enable them to effectively interact with the different units of an organization. This is
particularly important in context of today s business environment wherein increasing
Managing People & Organizations competition and globalization requires a manager to take quick and effective decisions that
Marketing require the ability to integrate knowledge across business functions.

Area Core Courses


Consultancy Practice Area core courses provide the necessary base of knowledge in the chosen area, i.e.
Consulting and People Skills Consultancy Management. These set of courses equip the professional working in consulting
Strategic Change Management and allied domains with the core set of advanced management, business process analysis,
consulting strategy, and people skills that are essential for developing a framework for
Project Management sustainable competitive advantage. In addition, it is imperative for consultants to deliver their
Business Process Analysis projects not only on time and budget but also to ensure customer satisfaction and our project
management course enables the participant to gain insights around how these seemingly
disparate goals can be seamlessly integrated.

Elective Courses

Management Information Systems Electives provide specialized knowledge relating to sub-areas and specializations within the
Supply Chain Management chosen area. These set of electives give expert level insights that are critical for the success of
Enterprise Resource Planning a consulting professional. The MIS course provides a strong foundation in information
systems management, which is critical for success in today's dynamic business
environment. ERP course lays a strong foundation in enterprise resource planning concepts
and illustrates the importance of integrated information systems in the context of a modern
organization. A good understanding of Supply Chain Management is critical for consulting
assignments in the operations area. Thus, each of the courses in this group of courses allows
the participant to master a specialized body of knowledge that is relevant for consulting
practice.
