This could be in response to an observation, The curriculum requires children and family

How will you use them? Why have

Obstacle Course
The children have the same gross motor play
everyday, therefore I will bring in some more
materials and create an obstacle course with
the materials I have and the equipment they
have at the school. This will further enhance
the childrens gross motor play. The obstacle
course will begin at any point, there will be
hula hoops, a tunnel for the children to crawl
through, then various coloured shapes on the
floor where they must toss the bean bag to the
corresponding colour and then there will be a
balance beam.
Objectives:
1. The children will demonstrate making
friends (1.1) as they seek out others to
play with. The children will play with
other cooperatively during the
obstacle course. In addition, the
children may invite others to play and
sustain playing with others (ELECT,
2014, p. 37).
2. The children will further enhance their
levels of activity, endurance, and
variation in types of activity and skills
(5.1). The children will enhance their
skills by running, and crawling into
tubes, jumping through the hula hoops
and throwing bean bags onto the
shapes on the floor (ELECT, 2014, p.
52).
3. The children will further develop their
gross motor skills (5.2) as they jump
through the hula hoops, and hop on
one foot as they jump onto the shapes
on the floor (ELECT, 2014, p. 52).
Materials:
- Tunnel Tubes
- Colour and shape mats
- Bean bags
- Hula hoops
- Balance beam
Implementation:
1. I will ask the children if they would
like to go through the tunnel or the
hula hoops
2. I will demonstrate throwing the bean
bags onto the mats
3. I will demonstrate hopping on the
shapes and colour mats
4. I will observe the children as they play

Teaching Strategies:
Invitations:
I will ask the children to come and see the
materials and activities that is displayed out
for the obstacle course.

Do it signal:
I will tell the children to go through the tube
and then hop onto the shakes and colour mat.
The do it signals will enable the children to
participate and encourage them to join in on
the activity.
