Historian Finally agree on history of soccer

Despite decades of dispute the world's most important historians finally agreed
on the history of soccer this weekend in the the headquarters of FIFA after
months of pressure from the organization.

This Friday the top ranking historians agreed on the history of soccer. This
breakthrough covers all the way back into ancient China, Greece Japan, and
Rome. FIFA has posted a document showing the final agreement.
According to FIFA.com the first influence of soccer was in China from a game
called Tsu Chu which was used as a military drill. Other influences were Japans
Kemari, Greeks Episkyros, and Romes Harpastum. Each game was wildly
different but they each contributed to modern soccer in there own way. Whether it
was the possession involved in Tsu Chu or the passing in Episkyros.
The article did not only go into the origins of soccer. The article also talked about
how soccer became popular. Soccer first became popular in England. England
was crucial with the development of soccer The English are credited with
recording the first uniform rules for the sport, including forbidding tripping
opponents and touching the ball with hands.(History of Soccer). The game
spread like wildfire throughout the kingdoms in England and became so popular
it was banned by multiple kings such as Edward III, Richard II, Henry IV, and
Henry V. With the spread of Puritanism there was an uproar against frivolous
arguments. This lead to the drive to create rule and the foundation of the English
FA on October 28 1863 in London and they made a set of rules which have the
basis of the rules today in 1868.(Old English soccer game)

With the English FA being founded Scotland soon followed suit and the Scottish
FA was formed in 1872 and in that same year these teams had the first
international match. This idea was revolutionary and was a major milestone in
European soccer The next countries to form football associations after the
Netherlands and Denmark in 1889 were New Zealand (1891), Argentine (1893),
Chile (1895), Switzerland, Belgium (1895), Italy (1898), Germany, Uruguay (both
in 1900), Hungary (1901) and Finland (1907). (History of Soccer- Global
Growth)
In more recent history FIFA was founded on May 1904. This lead to the modern
rules being created in 1937 by Stanley Rous. These rules were not final though,
things like tackles from behind and penalty kicks.

kicks). In 1930s the first World Cup was held with Uruguay winning, Argentina
getting second, The United States getting third, and Yugoslavia getting fourth.
The first women's game was on November 16 1991 and the winner was the
United States and the runner up is Norway.
Recently there also has been a lot of tragedy in soccer. Shortly before the end of
the game Hearts of Oak scored two goals in quick succession to seize a 2-1
lead. Kotoko supporters reportedly began breaking up their plastic seats and
hurling the pieces on the soccer pitch. Bottles were also thrown. The police
responded by firing tear gas at the crowd, triggering a panicky stampede for the
exits, at least some of which were reportedly locked. In the ensuing
pandemonium, according to a hospital spokesman,Some died of suffocation, but
the majority seem to have been killed by being crushed." (Yet Another Soccer
Tragedy) In the game spoken about 125 fans died. According To the president of
FIFA Sepp Blatter while building a stadium is one thing making sure not to many
tickets are sold and basic precautions are followed and it doesn't matter how
many rules are made it doesn't matter unless there followed.
In conclusion this document has finally shown a light on the history of soccer and
hopefully soon more important discoveries will be made about the beautiful
game.
