PS7 Assignment

1.) What is the problem that your research want to address and what are the question
do you want to answer?
The problem in our research that we want to address are the social work
students in Holy Cross of Davao College and we want to measure how the social work
students are knowledgeable enough about human rights.
2.) Why is this problem or question important?
This problem is important because every person have a human right to know
their own rights. As a social worker, we have the duty to protect, respect and fulfil
human rights of every individual.
3.) Who else has worked on this similar problem?
One of those people who have worked on the similar problems is Elisabeth
Reichert and the title of her work is Challenges in Human Rights: A Social Work
Perspective.
4.) What are the method we used?
The method that Elisabeth Reichert was the Descriptive Correlational Method
because she determined the relationship that exists between human rights and social
work practice.
5.) What were the results or conclusions? Refer to related study.
The conclusion of her work is that the social work profession has a natural affinity
to the human rights. An understanding of human rights would provide an effective
structure with which to connect the profession to political and social goals. She also
states that the social workers in the U.S. could learn from their international colleagues
and embrace the Human Rights concept. By recognizing the importance of human
rights, social workers can only enhance their profession.
