Here below are new words this week. Positive Words to describe places. It comes with video which
will help you with pronunciation and expression to use them in communication context. Hope you
can find this useful for yourself.

1. Picturesque /pktrsk/
(Of a place or building) visually attractive, especially in a quaint or
charming way
p nh tranh, p lng ly, n tng
Example:

Hey, why do you always wanna go to London, like everytime we plan a

trip, London was always your first pick?
I dont know, I just love it although Ive never been there before. Ok I
know it might sound ridiculous but when I was a kid, I watched a movie
named The Parent Trap, you know that movie? Yeah and I was very
impressed about the picturesque beauty of the city, you know, all the Big
Ben tower, Thames River, I love such type of ancient and classical
architecture like that which makes me feel like I lost in a fairy tale. Besides,
maybe you do not know this but I picked my English name from that movie,
from a little girl who lives in London, Annie so it means a lot to me. But
anyway, you guys will never go for it, I know how much allergic Emma is to
British Accent so forget it. Whyd you even ask?

2. Serene /srin/
Calm, peaceful, and untroubled; tranquil
Thanh bnh, yn tnh
Example: Nothing, just wanna know. So youre telling me that you wanted to
travel to a serene place, you know, calm, peaceful. Come on, we can go to my
hometown, you will be surrounded by picturesque countryside oh and theres
many very ancient designed houses there, very very old. You can feel like you
lost in a fairy tale as well but in Vietnamese version. You like that?

3. Vibrant /vbr()nt/ = lively

= bustling
Full of energy and life
y sc sng
Example: Seriously, Oh I cant not believe Im having this conversation with you.
And for your record, London might look calm but its actually a very vibrant city,
especially at night time. It can flexibly take off its classical coat to become a
contemporary girl at night. Dont just a book by its cover. Thats right, I know
some stuff

4. Charming /tm/
Very pleasant or attractive
Duyn dng, yu kiu
Example: I didnt judge anything. Im just kidding, ok? Im just not so into London
that much. Ive been there before, once. I cannot say that its not charming,
especially with its pleasant climate surrounding all those attractive historic
building as you said, but its more like boring charming. If you know what I
mean. Its not entertaining

5. Cosmopolitan /kzm
plt()n/
Somewhere with a rich and varied mix of cultures and languages
a vn ha, nhn nhp
Example:

What are you talking about? London is a cosmopolitan city with varied
mix of cultures and people. How can you not finding any fun there? Youre
such a boring person which makes much more sense.
Maybe, I guess problem comes from their accent, like Emma, I cant
stand that. Its is only their accent that makes me sleepy already

6. Touristy /trsti/
Relating to, appealing to, or visited by tourists
Hp dn khch du lch

Example: Eww?? Look what you said about the sexiest accent in the world. Youre
so narrow-minded. Come on, there must be something you like about this
touristy city to support me. People keep going there for a reason

7. Magnificent /manfs()nt/
extremely beautiful, elaborate, or impressive
hng v, trng l, nguy nga
Example: What do you want me to say? Oh ok, London is magnificent, I mean,
its extremely crazily beautiful, Im impressively in love with it at first sight. And
besides, the accent is so elegant and royal making me get lost in their voices.
Are you happy now?
8. Hospitable /hsptb()l/
(Of an environment) pleasant and favourable for living in
D chu, thoi mi
Example:

Hey, lady Im just joking, Dont be upset. Ok you want my serious

opinion. Listen! I think, its a hospitable place to live or travel, whatever,
agreeable weather, good scenery, friendly locals. Why not? Ill back you up
next time, is that ok?
Thank you so much. I love you.
