Healthy people may still become quite ill from a flu infection and will often need several
days off work or school. Some healthy people, such as pregnant women and young people
have been especially affected by swine flu. Getting immunised will also help protect
people in the community who are vulnerable, such as the very young and the elderly.
It is important to be vaccinated now as the flu season is upon us and it can take up to two
weeks to gain full protection.
