FOREWORD

This research is a requirement for Grade 11 students because it is included in the

curriculum guide of the K to 12 Curriculum for the Senior High School students. This

Practical Research subject is a process of executing various forms of discovery and

information to prove inquiry or thoughtfulness of claim or conclusion about the topic of a

research. It is a material that every student need to learn and to discover. Thus, the need to

acquire knowledge on research is very important.

This research is qualitative in nature. A qualitative research allows researcher to

develop a deeper understanding of a topic than can be obtained through quantitative research

alone. Qualitative research uses methodologies such as focus groups, in-depth interviews,

and direct observation so researchers can investigate attitudes, beliefs, and preferences the

how and why of decision-making. Qualitative research methods provide an opportunity for a

systematic, in-depth evaluation of a question that may not be easily answered through

quantitative methods. Moreover, these method can add to quantitative results through

explanations and clarifications with the target population.

ABSTRACT

The study focused on knowing the disruptive and misbehavior manifested by the

students, how it affects the learning, and the intervention to counteract these unbecoming

behavior.

It made use of the qualitative descriptive type of research and utilized both checklist

and open-ended questionnaire in gathering the information. Results of the study revealed that

students manifested both disruptive and misbehavior in classes.

Disruptive behavior includes not listening to the teachers, texting while the teacher is

discussing, chatting with seatmates, going out of room, roaming around, and being noisy and

talkative. Misbehavior are not wearing of complete uniform, not following school and

teachers policies such as proper throwing of trash, cutting classes, coming to school without

assignment, not submitting projects on time, coming to school late and bullying other

students.

Disruptive and misbehavior affect learning because other students cannot focus and

concentrate on learning the lessons; teachers spent time on disciplinary matters on students

unbecoming behavior, it loses the interest and enthusiasm of both teachers and other students.

Students who misbehave and disrupted the class are likely to get low or failing grades.

The study concludes that disruptive and misbehavior of students are detrimental to

learning. The study recommends that school need to create Prefect of Discipline, revise

classroom rules, school rules on handbook, teachers attendance to classroom management
