Market Share (MARKET SHARE)
It is the market share held by each of the brands within the total market.
SHARE = Sales of a brand X 100 / Total market sales
Example:
Total Volume of products sold in a route is 9,500 cases, distributed as follows: A = 5.200 boxes, B =
3.700 C = 600 boxes and boxes. Applying the above formula, we find that the Share of each of the marks
is:
A = 5.200 x 100 / 9.500 = 54.7%
B = 3.700 x 100 / 9.500 = 38.9%
C = 600 x 100 / 9.500 = 6.4%
Note: The concept of Value Share (Share Value) is similar to the previous one, only to be made on
billing.
DISTRIBUTION NUMBER (DN)
The percentage of outlets (clients) that have at least 6 units of our product (Focus), at the time of the
research in relation to total customers researched.
DN = No of customers with our product X 100 / Total number of international clients

DN = 420 x 100/500 = 84%

DROP SIZE
Is the total amount sold in a box divided by the number of deliveries on the route. The monthly average
drop size is obtained by dividing the total number of boxes delivered by the number of deliveries this
month.
DROP SIZE = Total boxes delivered / Number of deliveries
Example: Route 256, Delivery. Came out during the last month with physical boxes 3.420 to 1.235
orders to be delivered to different customers. What is the average drop size of the trade?
DROP SIZE = 3.420 / 1.235 = 2.77 boxes per order
The drop size is important as it lets you know the average number of boxes delivered to customers. The
larger the drop size, the greater the profit and productivity of sales teams and delivery.
GROSS MARGIN VALUE (QS / BOX)
