Reflection for English Lesson (letter D)

I came to the kindergarten on Sunday at 7:30 am to prepare my classroom to be ready for


children. I came early because teaching is very important and the teacher should be preparing
every day and say welcome to the children. So, I prepare my activities and put it on the desk
and put all the material that I needed for activities in the correct group.

I start my lesson after assembly, at 8:30 to 9 so when the children came, I say welcome to
them and let them put their names on the attendance board. Then, I choose the helper's hands,
and I let them bring the attendance baskets to take the attendance. Then, I let my helper hands
(hind) change the dates, and I sing with them the song of month and week. Then, I let them
eat the dates.

First, I put to the students the song to engage them to remember the letter. Then, I review
with students the letter by saying to them who know how to write a letter (A) on the board.
Also, let them to gives me ward start with letter A and the sound of letter A. So, I review with
them using a whiteboard, and it takes 5 min. Then, I will teach them the new letter, and its a
letter D. So, I will teach them how they can write the letter on the board (capital and small).
So, I will show them how to write the capital letter by say down and lollypop and teaches
them small by saying draw a circle and up. And I will write it many times to be sure that
everyone is understanding the how they can write it. Then, I will let them write it on the
floor, at the back of their friends, in another hand. So, they students will learn to write it in
fun way. Then I explain to each group their activities so each one knows what they should do.

Then, I make the transition to let the student learn how to organize and be independent.
Then, I let them to divided into three groups (butterfly, flower, bird) and let each group do
their activities. I let the high group (butterfly group) cut the picture that starts with letter D
and sticks it on the capital letter so that the students will develop their fine motor skills and
their thinking. Also. They children feel happy because there is the first day that students use
plastic scissors and they enjoyed. Moreover, I let the medium group build up the word dog
using small paper that written inside the different letter. So, they will develop phonological
awareness and letter knowledge by recognizing the shapes of a different letter. Furthermore, I
will let the low-level group design the letter D capital and small using clay. So, all my
activities hands-on activities and it develop their domains and phonological awareness.

Finally, I closed the lesson by reviewing with them the letter D and the word start with
letter d such as dog, dinosaur, duck, dolphin, donkey. And they remembered the sound, and
its (dinosaur dancing d, d, d). And I will give each child to talk about his work. Then, I
will put clean up songs to le the student clean the table to be ready for another lesson.

In this lesson, I want to prepare PowerPoint to teach the students extra words start letter d
and to let the student learn from the visual and auditory style. Also, I want to control my
classroom more. And I think my lesson was successful and the MST likes my activities.
