The story of Christs passion recalls the betrayal and indifference of others that led to
his crucifixion. In our homes, family members sometimes feel betrayed or ignored by
those who should love them best. Through Christs passion and death we have been
given new life. We too, can give new life to our family relationships whenever we act
with compassion and forgiveness.

Wedding Banns ~ II Owen Shaffer & Anna Buckley

Just as in the Gospel, whenever Jesus found faith He would do anything and His blessings and
power would go out to all, so too, will He bless you, your family, the parish, the world, and
everyone in the world will receive a new effect of His grace, love and mercy because you put your
faith into action and come to visit your Lord and your God. This is how grateful He is for each
holy hour you spend with Him. (Fr. Martin Lucia SS.CC.) Call Joie at 330-745-6852 or Kim at 330-
619-9208 for your special blessing.

In the February/March envelope packets there is an envelope for Easter Flowers.

Donations to the Flower Fund help to defray costs of flowers and decorations in our church

Want to Grow in Holiness? Want to transform your work, your marriage, your family, and your
life, but feel like you dont have time? In our hectic day and time, St. John Paul II and St. Mother
Teresa knew that the quickest way to be transformed into a saint is through a relationship with
Our Blessed Mother. Join us as we begin a 33-day preparation for Marian Consecration. For 6
weeks, well individually read about and reflect on 4 great Marian giants: St. Louis de Montfort,
St. Maximilian Kolbe, St. Mother Teresa, and St. John Paul II. Theyll teach us the secrets to
drawing closer to the Heart of Jesus through the Heart of Mary. We will then meet each
Monday for a discussion, we will begin May 15. If you are not able to join us for the discussions
then youre welcome to do it on your own. For additional information, please contact Jaclyn
Snyder at 330-745-1080 or Chris Christoff at 330-825-3431 prior to May 7.

The people of St. Augustine Parish are uniquely qualified to be a catalyst for ushering
in a new Culture of Life! This is because of the extraordinary graces, the divine power
which enables human beings to do what is humanly impossible, bestowed on our
parish because of over a half century of Perpetual Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
The Servant of God, Father John A. Hardon had said, There is no stopping abortion
without the Eucharist. Father Hardon challenged us, as believing lovers of the Holy
Eucharist, to make this century the most self giving and self-sacrificing century since
Jesus offered His first Mass which began at the Last Supper on Holy Thursday night
and ended on Calvary on the first Good Friday. Let us be the instruments of His
peace! The Culture of Life meets in the rectory on the first Tuesday of each month
following the 5:15 Mass and Benediction; all are encouraged to get involved.

Please take a peek at the items in the Lost and Found basket in the vestibule of the church,
the basket is pretty full. Items left in the basket after April 30 will be donated.

Congratulations to Anthony & Georgia Kaluza who celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary on April 8.
May God continue to bless you and your family.

All votive candles in the Church will be extinguished on Wednesday, April 12

through Sunday, April 16, in anticipation of the Resurrection of the Lord.

The three most Sacred Days: These are the three most important days of the entire
Christian Faith: Jesus death and resurrection. Make plans to begin the Triduum by
participating in the evening Mass of the Last Supper continuing through Good Friday and the
Celebration of the Lords Passion, culminating in the great Easter Vigil (which is to the Church year
what Sunday is to each week.)

HOLY THURSDAY SOLEMN PROCESSION Again this year, we ask the Holy Hour adorers
and Eucharistic Ministers to participate in the Solemn Procession of Holy Thursday at the Mass of
the Lords Supper. Pews will be reserved for you (and your spouse) in front, on St. Josephs side of
the church. It has been gratifying to see so many participate in the procession each year. We
certainly hope you will be in attendance again on Holy Thursday for the very special and
meaningful liturgy.

On Good Friday our parish will take up the annual collection for the Holy Land. We ask you to be
generous. This is the most important source of support for Christians in the Holy Land. Good
Friday is also a day of abstinence from meat and a day of fast that is limited to a single full meal.
The law of abstinence binds all Catholics 14 years and older. The law of fasting binds all Catholics
from their 18th birthday until their 59th birthday.

Please note: Ushers and Lectors are needed for Holy Week. Schedules are posted in the sacristy for
lectors and in the vestibule for ushers. Please prayerfully consider volunteering and sign up as soon
as possible.

EASTER VIGIL RECEPTION: Volunteers are needed to help set up, serve, and clean up for the
celebration after the Vigil. Food donations are also requested: cheese & crackers, fruit, veggie
trays, anything Eastery. To volunteer please call the rectory at 330-745-0011 and ask for
Denise. Any help will be appreciated.

Dear Ladies of the Parish: We are looking for women that would like to take part in the Stations
of the Cross Marys Way on Good Friday, April 14 at 7:00pm. Approximately 14 women are
needed to read one station (or more) each. There is a sign-up sheet in the sacristy. Thank you in
advance

St. Augustine Rectory will be closed for Easter on Friday, April 14 and Monday,
April 17. There will not be confessions on Monday, April 17. The rectory will
reopen for business on Tuesday, April 18. Happy Easter!
