Ovo su termini koje je profesorka Silvana Popovi diktirala na prvom asu predavanja, oni e biti na

oba kolokvijuma. Primer testa se nalazi na sajtu fakulteta na njenom profilu. Pisao sam na brzinu pa
se moda potkrala neka greka, a i nisam stigao za dva termina (neglience, constitution) da napiem
sve. Uglavnom ako neko od kolega uvidi greke neka me ispravi. Profesorka je rekla da ne mora
napamet da sa ui, moe i svojim reima ali za neke termine mora da se napie kako je diktirala
naprimer za parlament da ima legislative powers to su kao neke kljune rei koje moramo da
napiemo ostalo moe svojim reima. Brojevi pored termina koliko sam shvatio oznaavaju za koji se
kolokvijum ue. Na prvom kolokvijumu radimo materiju iz oblasti krivinog prava na drugom iz oblasti
graanskog prava i taj drugi je kae dosta tei. Nadam se da e nekom pomoi.

appeal (1)- a request to higher court to overturn the judgment of a lower one.

case method (1)- book a system of instructiton or study of law focused upon the analysis of court
opinion rather than lectures and textbooks.

civil law (2)- the body of laws of a state or nation dealing with the rights of private citizens.

common law (1)- laws that develop through case decisions by judges - not enacted by legislative
bodies. ( or- body of law developed through the courts and case decisions.)

constitution (2)- the system of laws and basic principles that a state, a country or an organization is
governed by ( book the fundamental law, written or unwritten that establishes the character of a
government by.....)

contract (2)- a legally enforceable agreement between two or more persons or parties ( every
contract has four legal elements required by law: an offer, acceptance, consideration and an intention
to create legal relations.)

crime (1) - book a public wrong/an offence against society punishable by the state.

damages (2)- money awarded by a court as compensation to a claimant ( plaintiff).

equity (1)- a branch of law that developed along side common law and is concerned with fairness
and justice.

judicial precedent (1) - a judicial decision that can be used as a standard in similar case.

legislation (1)- a law or set of laws suggested by a government and made official by a parliament; the
process of making and passing law.

liable (2)- legally responsible


neglience (2)- tort or civil wrong; failure to give proper care to something/somebody.

parliament (2)- national representive body, having supreme legislative powers within a state.

remedy(1)- a way of repairing harm or damage suffered.

tort (2)- a civil wrong done by one person to another and entitling the victim to claim damages.

trial (2)- a criminal or civil court case heard before a judge.
