Vail Valley Foundation Sowing Seeds Gardening Program

Instructor/Camp Counselor: June-August 2016

With co-instructor, developed and implemented age-appropriate curriculum

for groups of children ages 5-12.
Tailored lesson plans for children with emotional and cognitive disabilities.
Planned and cultivated a large greenhouse, and school garden beds with
children.
Prepared and planned healthy, nutrient rich foods, often having children
help with preparation.
Led Educational presentations, introducing children to nutrition and
wellness.
Increased program efficiency by developing games to keep kids interested

Holistic Community Health is a degree that I designed. It's a combination of

Biological Sciences, Human Services and Non-profit Studies, while also
incorporating Alternative Healthcare, and Nutrition into a platform that is
geared towards working with culturally and socio-economically diverse
communities. Current, relevant courses include Cultural Diversity, Health &
Illness, Researching and Writing Grant Proposals, Lifestyle Medicine, and
Multi-Level Wellness. I have taken a variety of courses that have helped me
 to broaden my knowledge of health-related issues across a diverse
spectrum of individual, and culturally related paradigms.
