Hitachi Content Platform
Hitachi Content Platform is a distributed object store that provides advanced storage and data management capabilities.
This helps you address challenges posed by ever-growing volumes of unstructured data. Divide a single Content Platform
into multiple virtual object stores, secure access to each store, and uniquely configure each store for a particular
workload.

Eliminate storage silos using Content Platform with a single object storage infrastructure that supports a wide range of
data types, applications, and users with different service level needs in enterprise and cloud environments.

Hitachi Content Platform is designed to enable archiving of fixed content in a manner that:

Ensures content integrity, authenticity, security, completeness and accessibility over the long term, in accordance with
relevant laws and regulations

Offers fast, online access to content

Allows integrated searching and indexing of the archive, including search of file contents

Supports business continuity, data recovery, compliance search and retention needs

Scales horizontally to support multiple applications and content types; and vertically to support continued data
growth

StorReduce
StorReduce is a specialized cloud deduplication solution, designed to meet the unique requirements of companies using
cloud storage for large volumes of data. StorReduce sits between applications and cloud storage, transparently
deduplicating data inline at speeds of up to 900MB/sec. Storage and bandwidth transmission costs are reduced,
speeding up the transfer of your data to cloud (and between clouds) by as much as 30 times. For details about
StorReduce architecture, refer to this link: http://storreduce.com/architectures/

StorReduce key characteristics include:

Reduces Cost: Reduces data transmission and cloud storage costs up to 97%

Fast sustained throughput: Writes up to 900 MB/sec, adding under 50ms of latency. Capable of sustained throughput
24/7 - does not buffer data.

Scalable: Up to 80 petabytes (80,000,000 gigabytes) of data per virtual server. Multiple servers will provide unlimited
capacity.

Cloud-native: Deduplicated data is immediately accessible to cloud services via StorReduce's S3 REST API

Multi-Cloud: Data can be stored on Amazon S3 or S3IA, Microsoft Azure Blob Storage, Google Cloud Storage
(Standard or Nearline), S3-compatible private cloud object stores, including Cloudian and IBM Cleversafe.

Resilient: Index information required to re-hydrate the data is stored in multiple locations, both in cloud storage and
on each StorReduce server. Extensive hashing and checking ensures data integrity during deduplication and
re-hydration.

Software-only solution: No hardware required, free from cost and lock-in.

Veritas NetBackup
NetBackup provides a complete, flexible data protection solution for a variety of platforms. The platforms include
Microsoft Windows, UNIX, and Linux systems. NetBackup lets you backup, archive, and restore files, folders or
directories, and volumes or partitions that reside on your computer. NetBackup includes the server and the client
software as follows:

Server software resides on the computer that manages the storage devices

The master server manages backups, archives and restores. The master server is responsible for media and device
selection for NetBackup. Typically, the master server contains the NetBackup catalog. The catalog contains the
internal databases that contain the information about NetBackup backups and configuration

Media servers provide additional storage by allowing NetBackup to use the storage devices that are attached to
them. Media servers can also increase performance by disturbing the network load. Media servers can also be
referred to as device hosts

Client software resides on the computers that contain data to back up (servers also contain client software and can be
backed up)

NetBackup also accommodates multiple servers that work together under the administrative control of one
NetBackup master server combination of managed and unmanaged services that let you build, deploy, and manage
applications any way you like for unmatched productivity.
