Gujarati,GandhilaysouttheargumentforIndianhomeruleasadialoguebetweenaneditorandreader.The

isledbyconstantlychangingministers.TheeditorsaysthatelementsofEnglishadministrationandculture,
includingrailroads,lawyers,anddoctors,haveonlybroughtruintoIndia,notprogress.Hesuggeststhatall
machineryinIndiabecomedisusedasawayofgettingridoftheevilsofwesterncivilization.Theeditoralso
advocatesthecreationofonenationoutofIndiaashesays,"Indiacannotceasetobeonenationbecause
peoplebelongingtodifferentreligionsliveinit."HewantstocreateoneIndiawithdifferentreligions,including
HinduismandIslam.

doistosacrificeourselves.Itisacowardlythought,thatofkillingothers."Insteadofusingviolence,Indians
havetoresistthroughwhathecalls"theforce"andgoesontodescribe"asloveforce,soulforce,or,more
popularlybutlessaccurately,passiveresistance."Theeditoradvocatespassiveresistanceasthehighestand
mostpowerfulformofresistingEnglishruleandgaininghomeruleforIndia.
