Please note the following terms: Groups = A term used on the Degree Audit to reference a required group of classes that
may be pre-selected or from which you can choose; General Elective = any course offering at BYU-Idaho which you are
eligible to take; Major Elective = a required course from a list of multiple course options within your major. (A certain
number of major electives may be required for your major, but you can select which course to choose from the given
list.)
Special Instructions
Students who select Child Development as a major are not able to select a minor in Marriage and Family Studies.
*Complete FDCA 201-206 if FDCA101 course was previously taken; complete FDWLD 201 if FDWLD 101 was taken..
**Child 150 and Child 210 are prerequisites to the 300 level development classes (Child 300, 310 and 320).
***Child 310 is a prerequisite for the practicum classes (Child 345 or ECD 350A, ECD 350B, ECD 350L or ECD 360A, ECD
360B, ECD 360L)
****The practicum class has three options (Take Child 345 or ECD 350A, ECD 350B, ECD 350L or ECD 360A, ECD 360B,
ECD 360L). For each ECD option, part "A" must be taken the semester before part "B" and "L" which is the lab.
Practicum is required before Child 440 and before the internship (Child 498R).
***** It is highly reccommended you complete an internship (CHILD 498R) during your off track.
