SCHOOL OF CHESS TACTICS - volume 4 (introduction and explanation written by Fide Master Paul Dobrinetsky) Dear friends! I would like to invite you into the Fairyland of Chess Kingdom! The school of chess tactics will help you to increase your level of chess playing. The more (the more efficient) you work the better results you obtain! Ifyou have solved correctly: 100 puzzles - your tactical chess rating is 1600 (3 category) 200 puzzles - your tactical chess rating is 1800 (2™ category) 300 puzzles - your tactical chess rating is 2000 (1% category) 400 puzzles - your tactical chess rating is 2100 (+1* category) 500 puzzles - your tactical chess rating is 2200 (a CM level*) All the positions are single tasks and it is always white to move. Your task is to find the best solution - no matter if it is the mating final (attack), gaining the decisive advantage or forcing a draw (from the position that looks very bad or seems very hard to make a draw) The author recommends solving systematically at least 6-12 chess puzzles. This way you can improve your tactical vision as much as calculation of variations! These skills should enable you play better and outplay your opponents with the use of tactics! Be careful and try to take advantage every time your opponent will give you the opportunity to do so! The book is directed especially to young players, coaches, trainers, instructors or parents. This chess puzzles book is recommended for players rated 1600-2100. * -CM- it is the shortcut from Candidate Master. It is the Icvcl of chess playcr who is able to play with the 2200 (average) rating strenght. It is the first chess title possible to obtain. This level (and the others that are highest than this one) of play achieves just about 710% of all chess players. To obtain a CM title any player should fullfil the specific conditions depending on the chess federation requirements. May all your chess dreams come true in chess tournaments! Please notice that these pracles are extremally useful for developing your chess intuition. Why? Because they contain just the most necessary pieces far showing the specific tactical motifs (and ideas). It means there are many important and usefl ideas included into every diagram. This way You are going to recognize these specific patterns at many more different (unknown) positions! With some additional excercises - you can tty to steer your game into ome of these positions (ideas and motifs and immortall)) and exploit the weaknesses to gain a decisive advantage. The last step is to convert it into the mating final (i it haven ' finished this way).
