Activity 1 Warm-up
Aim: to focus attention and provide a lead-in

Activity 2 pre-listening
Aim: to stir Ss interest in the topic
T writes the title of the new lesson on the blackboard, shows them the actions poster
and name all of them. Ss listen and repeat chorally and then individually.

Activity 3 while-listening
Aim: to consolidate Ss pronunciation
T plays the recording, Ss listen and repeat chorally and then individually and point
the actions

Activity 4 post-listening
Aim: to make them practise the actions
Ss play the game Simon says (T is Simon)

Activity 5 pre-listening
Aim: to make them talk about abilities
T shows to Ss the poster and asks them questions about what the people can do. Ss
listen and answer the questions individually.

Activity 6 while-listening
Aim: to consolidate Ss pronunciation and listening skills
T plays the recording, Ss listen and point to the actions. T plays the recording again
and Ss sing and mime the actions and lift the flashcards the T gives them.

Activity 7 while-listening
Aim: to practise listening and complete tasks
T asks questions and tries to elicit answers such as: Yes, I can or No, I cant. T drills
the Ss by asking questions and eliciting answers.
After explaining them, T asks the Ss to do exercise 3 page 39 while listening to the
recording, then encourages them to say what those children can do.

Activity 8 consolidation
Aim: to consolidate the knowledge acquired
T demonstrates the activity to the Ss. Then asks each pair of Ss to ask and answer
questions about their abilities and then report to the class.

Activity 9 practice
Aim: to play and consolidate the new knowledge
T splits the Ss in 2 big groups. They play the game Hearts and Crosses.

Activity 10 assignment of the homework and teachers appreciation


Homework: ex 2 page 38 and ex 2 from the worksheet from Activity Book.
T asks the students about the lesson if it was easy or difficult and praises the Ss
activity both verbally and by giving marks to those who were very active during the
lesson
