Traffic

Jurong Point Shopping Centre(JPSC), being one of the most popular mega mall in
Singapore, has a shopping traffic of 5 million visitors monthly. Having such a high
traffic has greatly benefitted the developers and shop tenants in terms of
revenue and market value. However the capacity to hold the enormous traffic
remains a major concern of JPSC. If traffic issue is not being dealt with, it might
cause disruptions to not only the shoppers but also the residents living at The
Centris. I have identified several sources of traffic coming from several
directions:

Commuters

As Boon Lay MRT and interchange serve as a main transit point for commuters
working in Tuas and industrial estates along Quality Road and Jalan Boon Lay
road. Due to the remoteness of the industrial areas, most companies have
indented buses to transport their employees to Boon Lay MRT station. Buses
182, 193 and 254 are the only buses linked between Tuas and Boon Lay MRT
station to Singapores transportation network. This crowd of people contributes
substantially to the traffic at JPSC.
