The first bicycle was invented in Germany in the year 1818 by Baron
Karl von Drais. It was made of wood and it did not have any pedals.
Riders had to use their feet to move the bicycle.
Throughout the years, many types of bicycles were invented but
they were not as what we see today. In the year 1874, the first
modern bicycle was invented by H. J. Lawson. It had two wheels of
equal size and was also easy to ride. Later it was fixed with rubber
tyres and brakes. People liked it and it soon became a popular mode of
transport. Today, bicycles are still used by millions of people around
the world.
