August 2011 to Present

Classroom teacher for 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades at the first ever pre k-8 STEM
Academy and Towson-BCPS Learning Center. Worked with leadership to
implement school-wide Restorative Practices and Character Education
Program, leading to first National School of Character Award in BCPS history.
Delivered school, county, and national professional development on
restorative practices, trauma-sensitive instruction, character education and
more. Created integrated student learning experiences across all disciplines,
with a focus on student-centered instruction and a strong social and
emotional foundation. Developed exceptional classroom environments
(including flexible seating) in this Title I school, with proven benefits for
student success, as evidenced by improved behavior, relationships, and
exemplary MAP scores. Collected and utilized student data for lesson analysis
and student intervention. Implemented mini lessons, small groups, centers,
and guided reading. Maintained communication and built strong relationships
with diverse group of parents and caregivers. Additional responsibilities
included Norwood Leadership Team, leadership in character education and
restorative practices, and research for various school initiatives. Routinely
delivered demonstration lessons for numerous MSDE, BCPS, Towson
University, and community visitors.
