Dear Parents,
Welcome to Kindergarten! My name is Phoebe Tieman and this is my first-year
teaching! I am really excited to get the school year started and on its way! I have so many
fun ideas and things planned throughout the year!
To start off with, I would like to tell you a little bit about myself, both professional and
personally. I am originally from a small town in central Missouri, Called Alma. I went to Santa
Fe High School and then went on to graduate from State Fair Community College in Sedalia,
MO with an associate degree in Elementary Education. After State Fair, I then went on to
Northwest Missouri State University and graduated with a major in elementary education and
a minor in early childhood education. I love going on vacations, anywhere with a beach or on
a different continent. I have traveled to Europe twice and seen, Germany, Austria,
Switzerland, Liechtenstein, and Italy. I enjoy watching and playing sports. Go Royals! My

hobbies include; reading, writing, listening to music, being with family and friends and going
for walks.
I would like to work closely with you this year and believe that communication is vital.
If you ever need to get ahold of me you can email, call or text me (contact information is
listed on table of contents page). I arrive at school by 7:45 each morning and usually do not
leave until after 4:00.
Be sure to keep up with our classroom daily or weekly, by watching our Facebook page

Have the right attitude

o As parents, you should show excitement and enthusiasm for your
childs school. You can always volunteer in our classroom! Ask your
children what theyre doing in school and discuss the topics.
Communicate
o Communicate with your childs teacher (me), as parents you may
notice a problem before I do.
Stick to Routines
o Keep your child on a daily routine and keeping it consistent, this
includes; getting your children up at the same tine every day and
sticking to the same bedtime routine and time.
Support your childs strength
o Devote time to your childs problem learning area(s), and continuing
to devote time to their strengths also. it is also important to let your
children know that their poor areas make them a poor student.
Have homework independence
o Let your children work on their homework on their own. Let your
