DIVISION MEMORANDUM

1. In line with the DepEDs thrust on the implementation of the ICT for Education (ICT4E),
The Division of Davao del Norte will conduct the 6th Division ICT Challenge and ICT
Congress on February 19-20, 2015 at Kapalong National High School with the theme
Enriching Educational Innovations Through ICT
3. Participants to this activity are the top one (1) winner in each school/cluster/municipality/
district on the following categories:
I. For Elementary Level (Pupils)
a. Educational Game (Text Twist) including the SPED; 1 pax per SPED Center
b. Powerpoint Presentation
c. ICT Quiz
d. e-Sudoku including the SPED; 1 pax per SPED center
e. Video editing
II. For Secondary Level (Students)
a. Interactive Powerpoint Presentation (1 per Municipality)
b. Video Production
c. ICT Quiz
d. e-Sudoku
III. For TeachersCategory
a. Class demonstration on ICT integration (2 pax per municipality for Sec)
b. Adobe Photoshop
IV. For School Heads Category (by district for elementary; by Municipality for Sec)
a. PowerPoint Presentation (2 per cluster for secondary)
b. Pro-Show (2 per cluster for secondary and 1 per district)
V. For Elementary/Secondary School Level
a. Search for Most Functional Computer Laboratory
4. Mechanics and Criteria, Members of the working team, Board of judges, schedule of
activities and list of participants template of each contest/event are hereto attached.
5. This is a live-in activity. A registration fee of Five Hundred Pesos (P500.00) shall be
charged to each contestant, teacher-coach, ICT Coordinators to cover the cost of Two (3)
meals and four (4) snacks chargeable against school MOOE/local funds, PTA funds, while
expenses for medals, trophies, frames, honoraria of judges, and other supplies needed
during the conduct of the activity shall be charged to Citizenship Development Fund of
the Provincial SEF ,all subject to the usual accounting and auditing rules and regulations.

Theme: Enriching Educational Innovations Through ICT
MECHANICS AND GUIDELINES OF THE DIFFERENT CONTESTS/EVENTS
SECONDARY LEVEL
1. Interactive PowerPoint Presentation
1.1 Each contestant will be given 2 hours to create/make his own interactive
presentation using MS Office (PowerPoint)
1.2 The presentation must not less than 10 slides. A contestant can make more than
ten (10) slides, provided he/she will not exceed the time allotment for the
presentation.
1.3 The contestants can use available resources in their respective computers or
access the internet.
1.4 The presentation of the slides shall not exceed five (5) minutes.
1.5 The presentation should revolve around the theme.
1.6 Criteria for judging:
Interactivity of Slides - 20%
Relevance to the theme - 30%
Delivery Skills - 20%
Substance - 30%
2. Video Production Editing
2.1 Each contestant will be given two hours to shoot their own video inside the school
vicinity (venue) and three (3) hours to edit their raw videos to produce short
infomercial (2-3 minutes).
2.2 Any video editing software available can be used in the contest.
2.3 The contestant shall focus his video based on the theme Enriching Educational
Innovations Through ICT
2.4 The video presentation should not exceed 3 minutes. Video exceeding 3 minutes
will be disqualified
2.5 Criteria for Judging:
Content/Impact -30%
Relevance to the theme -25%
Originality -25%
Presentation -20%
3. ICT Quiz (same mechanics in the elementary level)
4. e-Sudoku
4.1 The contest consists of three (3) rounds: elimination, average and difficult.
4.2 Each contestant will be given a maximum of one (1) hour to answer a given puzzle
in each round. Otherwise, he/she will be eliminated on that particular round.
4.3 The first ten (10) contestants who get the correct answer within one (1) hour in
the elimination round will advance to the average round.
4.4 The first five (5) contestants who get the correct answer in the average round will
advance to the difficult round.
4.5 In case only five (5) contestants or less get the correct answer in the elimination
round, they will advance automatically to the difficult round.
4.6 In the difficult round, the first three (3) contestants who finish earlier will be
declared as winners with the contestant having the earliest time being the first.
TEACHERS CATEGORY
1. Adobe Photoshop (For Teachers only)
1.1 Each district and secondary schools shall have one (1) teacher-contestant. Locally
paid teachers are allowed to participate.
1.2 One or several of the supplied images must be recognizable as a central part
each contestants design, however, contestants may add images not found in the
supplied graphics.
1.3 No text, watermarks or images that will be used to identify neither the school nor
the contestant.
1.4 All entries must be RGB JPEG files, below 5MB, maximum of 100 pixels
1.5 Each contestant will be given two (2) hours to lay-out the tarpaulin on the given
occasion (The occasion will be revealed before the start of the competition). The
size of the tarpaulin will be 3 x 4, or an equivalent of 12 sq ft.
1.6 The printed tarpaulin shall be displayed at the designated area.
1.7 The panel of judges will base their mark on the criteria.
1.8 The decision of the judges is final and irrevocable.
1.9 Criteria for Judging:
The judges votes will be determined by the following criteria.
a. Over-all creativity and concept 30%
b. Creative adaptation of sources images 15%
c. Visual impact 20%
d. Technical Skills 20%
e. Relevance to the Theme 15%
Entries not complying with the contest rules are subject to disqualification
without prior warning.
