Sending a message via the 6th district

congressional special election
What are we seeing:
The 2016 Presidential election was a wake up call:
Hateful rhetoric, anti-immigrant sentiment, and harmful policies were given a name and a face
The unpopularity of both Democrat and Republican candidates made it difficult to get involved or
engaged
After the inauguration the extreme policy & rhetoric were real (#MuslimBan)

The Desi community has never been engaged

Parents who came in the 70s & 80s focused on family and business
The community lags behind in voting, donations, and engagement - success everywhere else!

2nd Generation is taking their place in society

Desis who were born or raised here feel like they are apart of society and want the promise of the
American dream for their kids
They see the hateful rhetoric and actions affect their friends and family
They are marching, donating, and getting involved - we need to channel & focus that energy
Then they came for us...
