These operating instructions enable safe and efficient handling of the device / machine.
The operating instructions are a component of the device / machine and must be kept accessible to
the personnel at all times in the immediate vicinity of the device / machine.
The present operating instructions were carefully prepared. Nevertheless, no liability is assumed for
possible errors or for direct or indirect damage occurring in connection with any errors in these
operating instructions.
The user must have carefully read and understood these operating instructions before starting any
work.

NOTE
You are able to have individual trainings performed at your location or at WITTMANN group.
Alternatively, your employees may also participate in training via the web academy.

Explanation of symbols

1.2.1 Warnings
Knowledge of the safety instructions and regulations is a basic requirement for safe handling and
trouble-free operation.
Warnings are subdivided into various classes. They are preceded by signal words indicating the
degree of danger.
These signal words and their assigned signal colours, as well as the respective definitions, are based
on the DIN EN 82079-1, ISO 3864-2 and ANSI Z53.x standards.
Warnings are indicated by symbols (Triangle with exclamation mark) and signal words (DANGER,
CAUTION, IMPORTANT, NOTE). These signal words emphasise the degree of endangerment.
The hazards are subdivided into various categories.
All of the warnings follow the same structure, see the following display:

DANGER
Source of danger
Consequence of danger
Prevention, actions

The following symbols are used for warnings:

DANGER
Imminently hazardous situation resulting in fatal or serious injuries.

WARNING
Possible hazardous situation which can result in fatal or serious injuries.

CAUTION
Possible hazardous situation which can result in minor injuries.

IMPORTANT
 Possible situation which can damage the device.

NOTE
Points out useful hints, suggestions and information.

Warnings indicated at the start of a chapter apply for the entire chapter and all of its subchapters.
Warnings referring to a subchapter or the subsequent operating step are integrated in the relevant
procedure.
Pay strict attention to all warnings.

1.2.2 Other symbols

Some chapters use the following additional symbols:

cleaning instruction

Limits on liability
WITTMANN group assumes no liability for personal injury, material damage, and/or
environmental damage due to:
Improper operation
Usage for purposes other than those intended
Changes to the device / machine without the authorisation of WITTMANN group
Non-compliance with the servicing, maintenance, and cleaning intervals
Usage of parts from other manufacturers without the authorisation of WITTMANN group
Damage caused by inadequately qualified personnel
In case of damage from foreign bodies or force majeure
Non-compliance with the technical documentation
Usage of non-original spare and wear parts and lubricants from WITTMANN group
 Warranty
WITTMANN group assumes warranty for defects due to defects of construction, material or
craftsmanship for the duration of 12 months after the goods are received by the customer.
The complaint about the defect must be made without delay and in writing.
