EVANGELICAL CHURCH
(VICTORY CHAPEL)

INTRODUCTION OF EXTRAMURAL
ACADEMIC COURSES FOR THE YOUTH OF
THE GLOBAL EVANGELICAL CHURCH-
VICTORY CHAPEL

SUBMITTED TO THE EDUCATION

COMMITTEE OF THE HO FIAVE
GLOBAL EVANGELICAL CHURCH-
VICTORY CHAPEL
APRIL, 2017

Executive Summary
Most youth of the Ho Fiave Global Evangelical Church and even the Sister
congregations in the Ho Township who have written the WASSCE (both June/July and
Nov/Dec) and have been able to pass all their papers find it difficult to further their
education to a tertiary level. This proposal is aimed at gathering all these youth of
the church who are unable to pass their examinations and therefore unable to
continue to a tertiary institution but are willing to do something about their situation
to teach them to get the appropriate grades for their schools of choice.
The students will be provided some career counseling services before and after their
Examination to prepare them appropriately for what they want to be in the future.
The counselling services is aimed at helping them develop their personal
development plan for academic and employment purposes.
Background

The Ho Fiave Global Evangelical Church Victory Chapel, no doubt has a lot of youth.
Anecdotal information available indicates that a large number of these youth are
unable to further their education because it was becoming difficult for them to
achieve the required grades. Some of them are eager to continue to a tertiary level
(Nurses Training, Teacher Training, Polytechnic, University and others) but because
they were unable to get good grades to allow them gain admission remain at home
doing menial jobs. Some of them become discouraged and think that they have
come to the end of their academic career and give up. One key contributing factor
is that parents find it difficult to pay extra money for their extramural activities so
as to retake their examinations.

Some of these people have re-written their papers several times and were unable to
get the appropriate results for further education. Some of these youth also have
challenges getting required fees to attend extra classes. As a result, they have to
engage in other economic activities which usually takes most of their time and are
unable to learn adequately.

Most of the youth of the Church have been unable to further their education due to
economic situation of their parents and are forced by these circumstances to further
their education. Some are forced by circumstances to engage in other economic
activities which does not allow them adequate time to study so as to make their
grades to further their education to either Nurses training, teacher training or the
Universities.
These category of youth will be the target group for this extramural educational
programme by the Church. All youth in this category from Ho Fiave and her sister
congregations are all part of the target group.
The Management of this extramural academic programme will be under the
leadership of the Pastor, the Church Session and the Education Committee of
the Church. However, Coordinators will be appointed by the Education
committee to manage the activities.

As a Church which believes in developing the talents of the youth, it has become
very critical and necessary to offer some assistance to these youth who are
interested to further their education.

Market Analysis
A. There are a lot of the youth of the church without work due to their inability to

aim at attracting other youth who are not going to church but willing to improve
their results so as to further their education.
