To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing to highly recommend Jennifer Morrison for a teaching position in the Hawaii
Public Schools. As her professor at the University of Hawaii West Oahu, I have had the
pleasure of getting to know Jennifer this past year.

Outgoing, considerate, dedicated, and professional are four words that describe Jennifer
Morrison. I have witnessed her desire to provide quality education for her students.
Jennifers enthusiastic personality is contagious and highly motivating to her students.
During her student teaching experience, Jennifer went above and beyond to engage all
students in the instructional activities. Jennifer demonstrated that she understood the
teaching and learning process.

After observing Jennifer teaching numerous lessons, it was obvious that she had a positive
relationship with her students. At the beginning of her lessons, Jennifer explored various
intrinsic and extrinsic ways to hook students. She communicated expectations, tied new
information into prior learning, and clarified any misconceptions. Jennifer used visuals to
support learning and had extraordinary talent in getting students excited about STEM
subjects. She provided students with constructive effective feedback that built on strengths
while improving their weaknesses. Jennifer explained key ideas and created a
collaborative learning experience for her students encouraging them to strive for
excellence.

Jennifer shows initiative and truly wants to create a positive classroom environment where
active learning takes place. She is a collaborative and cooperative team player who is very
organized and highly respected by peers. She is mindful about attending to details and her
dedication to education is evident in all her interactions. I appreciate the fact that Jennifer
has a passion for mathematics and has been part of the UHWO PAL (Peer Academic
Leaders) program. She supports other adult learners in the STEM education fields, works
closely with the math faculty, holds study groups, assists in class discussions, and
demonstrates excellent communication skills. After Jennifer accepts her first contract, she
wants to start the school year out by getting students involved in a Math Club that offers
extracurricular enrichment activities at the school.

Jennifer has excellent leadership skills, is compassionate, and is a good role model. Her
kindness toward others and her enthusiasm for teaching are two qualities that all
educators should embrace. I believe strongly that Jennifer would be an asset to your
school. If I can be of further assistance in sharing Jennifers attributes and abilities, please
contact me at 425-220-7595.

Sincerely,
Dr. L. James
