PREFACE
As a part of MBA Curriculum and in order to gain practical knowledge in the field of
Corporate Social Responsibility undertaken by Companies and NGOs, this project report has
been prepared. The basic objective behind doing this project report is to understand the CSR
strategies adopted by organizations to develop the ecological balance and maintain a positive
impact on the environment.

In this report, various activities carried by us in CSR of Bharat Forge, Pune have been
explained and learning acquired from those has been explained.

I would like to express my gratitude to Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies, Pune

for giving me an opportunity to work with Bharat Forge for successfully completing my CSR
project. It gave me an insight to understand the real life situations of underprivileged.

CSR project supervisor at Bharat Forge, Pune and all staff of CSR Department for their

About CSR and Organization

This CSR project was undertaken for Bharat Forge Ltd. It is a very well-known
company for its CSR activities and is ranked amongst the top 5 Indian
corporates in terms of the spendings done on CSR activities. They have
adopted a primary school in Mundhwa, Pune by the name Rajshri Sahuji
Maharaj English Medium Primary School. The CSR team of Bharat Forge takes
care of the sanitation and the cleanliness of the government facility and also
runs an Idea lab for educating different concepts to students through practical
demos and models. The Bharat Forge Employees and volunteers visit the school
on regular basis and teach the students and also conduct various other activities
for the school children. As we all know that the condition of government
schools in our country is not very good and these schools suffer from deficiency
of very basic amenities so Bharat Forge has extended its helping hand to some
of such schools and adopted them .This is just a small part of the various other
CSR initiatives which are taken by the company.

CSR Activity Details:

 1. Visit Date: 09-Dec-2016

It was the first visit where we had to go to the corporate office of Bharat Forge
Limited and visit the CSR department. Here we were given details about the
various CSR activities undertaken by Bharat Forge. We were asked to fill our
personal and professional details. We were also asked to choose our CSR
project which suited our interests and skills. I chose to work on the education
project where I had to teach students of different standards in the schools Life-
Lab which is adopted by Bharat Forge Ltd.

We were asked to handle two projects namely Life-Lab and Waste management.

We were also given our company passes and identity cards which allowed us
entry into the company premises. A visit to school was made and seen the Life
lab.

2. Visit Date: 13-Dec-2016

It was our first visit and we were asked to start our CSR activity with waste
management project. So, accordingly we made a visit to understand the waste
management program. Mr. Jayadeep who is a representative from Bharat Forge
explained the waste management process, decomposing of the kitchen waste.
We have also visited few houses and spoke to them how the waste management
is helping them. We also tried to know the scope for improvements. Here Bharat
Forge is promoting the waste management at individual house level of mundva.

It was a little bit technical how the whole process of waste management
happens. Truly its an amazing job done by Bharat forge.

In this visit I have explained the students about the Double Pendulum
experiment. Students understanding ability is very poor. There is a need for
improvement in English reading and writing skills. 5th Standard A and B
divisions were taught about the experiment and asked some basic questions
about the same to understand their learning ability.

In this visit I have explained the students about the Double Pendulum
experiment. I taught 6th Standard Marathi medium about the experiment and
asked some basic questions about the same to understand their learning ability.

In this visit I have explained the students about the Newtons Colour Rotor
experiment. Students understanding ability is very poor. There is a need for
improvement in English reading and writing skills. I taught 7th Standard
English medium about the experiment and asked some basic questions about the
same to understand their learning ability.

Do you that sun is of white colour but appears as yellow?
Why does the colour wheel appear white in colour even though it has 7
colours on it?

In this visit the volunteers were called at the head office of Bharat Forge to
update Leena Madam on the progress of the CSR activities. But, the last minute
change of plans for Leena Maam and some other commitment she wasnt able
to meet us in this visit and this reporting visit was postponed.

Took maths class on fractions to 5th Standard English medium as Mr.Jaydeep didnt give me
the key of Life lab room to teach experiments.
