I. Introduction
This is the official rulebook of GLFFL dynasty fantasy football league. It is the ultimate
authority and final word on all disputes as interpreted by GLFFL Commissioner and the
Board of Directors. All league members are expected to read it and have a firm
understanding of the rules and how the league operates. Members should also print out
a copy of this rulebook for future reference. GLFFL is a complex dynasty fantasy
football league that allows members to take the role of NFL GMs (general managers) to
take control of managing every aspect of their franchise, from drafting players and
signing them to contracts, to managing their roster and planning for free agency (FA).
GLFFL Mission Statement: To provide the most realistic professional football
management simulation on the internet!

II. Teams, League Makeup, and GM Responsibilities

2.1. Teams and Divisions

The GLFFL will be made up of 12 teams making up three divisions. Teams will not
change divisions unless it is suggested by the GLFFL Commissioner and every three
years there will be a possibility of divisional realignment.
The divisions will be aligned as follows:

Harmon Howard Woodson

1. Andrew 5. Bryan 9. Dexter
2. Dom 6. Kevin 10. Jeremy
3. Freddy 7. Jeff 11. Kyle
4. Mark 8. Shawn 12. Tyler

2.2. Membership in GLFFL

The league commissioner and his Board of Directors (BOD) made up of a panel of
Assistant Commissioners will grant membership into GLFFL and officially award team
franchises. The franchise will be granted at their discretion based on the application
submitted by the prospective GM and potential interview with the prospective new GM.
Established GMs have the right to return year-to-year as long as they remain in good
standing with the league and they are past their three-year probationary period. Teams
in their probationary period can be released from their membership without warning if
the GM does not meet the demands of the requirements as a GM or is seen as a
detriment to the league.

2.3. Changing of Membership

In the event there is a change in membership, the new GM will keep the same players
that were on the roster of the franchise held by the previous GM and will take over all
administrative powers of the team.
2.4. League Fees
Each GLFFL member is required to pay the $50 league fee PRIOR to the deadline
posted by GLFFL Commissioner (Week 1). Failure to pay the league fee will result in a
penalty that could include GLB fines and in some cases expulsion from the league.

2.5. Prizes
Cash prizes will go to the top three places. 1st place receives $400, 2nd place receives
$150, and 3rd receives $50.

2.6. GM Responsibilities
GMs are expected to remain active and engaged at all times including the offseason.

III. Rosters

3.1. Composition
Teams are to be composed of 20 roster slots. These slots may be filled by players in
any of the following positions:
QB, HB, WR, TE, K, DEF

3.2 Starting Lineup General Information

GMs have the flexibility to start their best lineup as the starting lineup requirements
allow GMs to build and manage their teams in a variety of ways; however it is the
responsibility for all GMs to maintain the integrity and high level of competition that has
become a staple of GLFFL over the years. Therefore the following starting lineup rules
are in place:

3.2a. Starting Lineup Validity

All teams must submit a valid starting lineup each week prior to the start of the NFL
game that their starting players are scheduled to play in.
A valid starting lineup is defined as having all starters that are not on byes, injured
reserved, declared officially "out" by the team up to one day before they are scheduled
to play, suspended, or any other circumstance in which the GM had definitive evidence
that the player was not going to play up to one twenty four (24) hour period before they
are scheduled to play. Violations will be taken into account, and could result in
expulsion.
The GLFFL Commissioner reserves the right to modify valid starting lineup rules to
account for extreme circumstances
It is understood that the valid starting lineup rule is in existence for the rare
circumstance of owners not being competitive and is not meant to cover circumstances
beyond the GM's reasonable control. In addition if a GM intentionally tries to manipulate
the rules to their advantage the GM may be subject to disciplinary actions!

3.2b. Starting Line-Up Requirements

Each team will start 10 players in the following positions and amounts: 2 QB, 2 RB, 2
WR, 1 TE, 1 RB/WR/TE, 1 K, 1 DEF
IV. Contracts and Cap

4.1. General Information

Players acquired either through the draft or free agency must be signed to a GLFFL
contract. This contract will be the number of years that the player can remain on your
roster before becoming a free agent.

4.2. Salary Cap and Contract Cap

Each franchise has a salary cap of 200 Great Lakes Bucks (GLB). The total GLB
remaining on the contracts of all players on a team's roster CANNOT exceed 200. Also,
each franchise has a contract cap of 25 years. The total contract years remaining on the
contracts of all players on a team's roster CANNOT exceed 25.

4.3. GLFFL Contracts

GMs must sign all players to a GLFFL contract prior to being activated and available for
GLFFL play.

4.3a. Signing players to GLFFL Contracts

There are two ways players receive their GLFFL contracts:
WAIVER WIRE
Players acquired by the waiver wire are automatically signed to one (1) year contract
worth one (1) GLB without opportunity to resign before free agency the following
season.
FREE AGENCY
Players obtained in Free Agency must have their GLFFL contract announced within one
(1) week from the annual Free Agency draft. If this deadline is not met by a team it will
forfeit their rights to ALL players not assigned contracts and they will become Free
Agents and available to be signed by another team.

4.4. Expired GLFFL Contracts

GLFFL contracts formally conclude on January 31st. All players who had only one year
remaining on their contracts become free agents and will be available in the Free
Agency session. Players with expired contracts can be re-signed by their original team
under the terms outlined in the Restricted Free Agent rule (see Item 5.3 below). All
other players have their GLFFL contracts reduced by one year.
EXAMPLE 1: Peyton Manning signed for three (3) years with the Team X in 2010; all
three years count against the 25 year contract limit *in 2010* leaving 22 years to use on
other players. On February 1, 2011, Manning's contract becomes a two-year contract
and now counts only two years against the cap. Now Team X has 23 years to use on
the rest of their roster.
EXAMPLE 2: The same team also signed Hines Ward to a one (1) year contract in
2010. On February 1, 2011, Ward's contract is reduced one year ... leaving zero (0)
years on the contract. Ward will become a Free Agent
4.5 Contract Extensions
GMs may elect to extend a player’s GLFFL contract in one of TWO (2) ways

4.5a. Contract Extension

Single Year Extension
Teams may add 1 contract year to any ONE player that is on their team PRIOR to the
Free Agency draft at a cost of a 10% increase from their salary the previous year.
Multi Year Extension
Teams may add up to 6 contract years to any ONE player that is on their team PRIOR
to the Free Agency draft.
The contract salary increases as follows: Year 1 – Base, Year 2 – 5%, Year 3 – 10%,
Year 4 – 15%, Year 5 – 20%, Year 6 – 25%.
REMEMBER TEAMS MUST STAY UNDER BOTH CAPS

4.6b. Contract Buyouts

Teams may buy out the years remaining on player contracts at a cost of 75% of the
remaining contract.

4.7. Player Retirement or Death

Any active GLFFL player who retires or passes away while under GLFFL contract will
be taken off the team's roster immediately and the team will NOT be charged with a
buyout fee.

V. Transactions

5.1. Trades
GMs may trade players at any time throughout the calendar year that trading is not
restricted. To make a trade, the trade MUST be confirmed by BOTH GMs and approved
by the league office to be official and binding.
Contract Status
Every player traded carries his contract status with him, including the current year. This
contract will be counted against the total years available to his NEW team. Any
exchange of players between teams cannot leave either team with more than 200 GLB
and 25 total years for all players. If this happens, the GLFFL Commissioner will void the
trade until such time as the affected teams can make room under the contract cap. GMs
are then free to negotiate with other teams on any players involved in the voided
transaction.

5.2 Acquiring a player via the waiver wire (In season FREE AGENCY)
GMs may place a bid on Free Agents during the waiver wire period each week during
the regular season. The team with the highest waiver priority will be awarded the player,
with their priority then resetting the following week.
5.3. Contracts
All players acquired via the waiver wire or open singing period are signed to a one year
contract.

5.4. Injured Reserve (IR)

Any player placed on IR is out for the rest of the season and CANNOT be used until the
following year. The player remains the property of the team and his contract will NOT
count towards the team's cap. Once a player is placed on IR, the club can pick up
another player but they must go through the free agent channel as with any other pick
up. Players on IR can be traded but must remain on the IR with their new team and the
team receiving the player must have a slot open on their IR.

5.5. Trade Restrictions

Trades between teams are unlimited, though players may not be traded back to his
previous team for at least 4 weeks. However, if any trades appear to be EXTREMELY
one-sided or otherwise jeopardizes the integrity of the league, the GLFFL
Commissioner may veto the trade outright. In the event that the GLFFL Commissioner
is involved in the deal, the BOD will decide whether or not the trade in question will be
vetoed.
***The GLFFL Commissioner reserves to veto ANY deal that he feels violates the
integrity of the league***

5.6. Trade Deadline

The deadline for all trades for the season is November 12th, the Friday during Week 10.
