Overview
This document provides instructions for installing Healthcare Industry Foundation (HCIF) Version
7.14.
To upgrade the application from a prior release, use the document titled Healthcare Indusry
Foundation Upgrade Guide 7.14.
Intended audience
This document assumes that the installer has the following administration skills and capabilities:

Prerequisites
Before you begin the HCIF installation process, verify that the following prerequisites have been met.
Database
Pega 7 is installed on one of the following databases:
n Oracle
n MSSQL
n DB2
n DB2 z/OS
n PostgreSQL
Pega 7
n Pega 7.1.8 is installed and verified.
3. Find the following file on the distribution media and click Next.
n Rules\AB_HCIF_714_for_Pega_71.jar
4. From the Import Wizard tab, select the file and click Next.
Note: Do not select the Enable advanced mode to provide granular control over the
import process check box.
5. Choose the default Automatic option and click Next for the system to apply these changes
automatically.

6. Click Next after each component is installed to advance the installation.
7. When the last component is installed, click Done to complete the installation.
Note: The number of records shown may be different for the application that you are installing.
To install sample data instances, repeat steps 1 to 7 in Importing the application bundle
on page 6 to load the following files from your distribution media in the order shown
below:

Enabling Elasticsearch
For faster performance in the Code Manager portal, Care Management Application uses the
Elasticsearch, which improves the code search in individual code sets. Before using the Code
Manager portal, you must index the sample data to view the sample code sets and code groups.
To enable Elasticsearch, re-index the Data and Work classes, as shown below.
Log in as Administrator@PegaHealthCodes to re-index. This enables re-indexing for data and work
classes only in the PegaHealthcodes layer. This step is mandatory so that you can view the codes in
the Code Manager portal.

2. Verify that your initial view looks similar to the screen below.
The system displays the pre-configured objects and the number of instances
configured for each.
3. Click the Companies link in the main session frame or in the left navigation pane.
The system displays the Company (profile) screen for Acme Systems and provides
Edit company information for update.

Note: HCIF includes sample data for the pre-configured code sets. Refer to the
Healthcare Common Codes Business Use Case Guide for details on loading your
own data into the code sets and creating new code sets.
To configure a ruleset:

4. Enter the MyCodeGroups ruleset and its version in the Code Group Settings as
shown below, and click Save.

You are now ready to create and save custom code groups.
