Overview

Overview
This document provides instructions for installing Healthcare Industry Foundation (HCIF) Version
7.14.

To upgrade the application from a prior release, use the document titled Healthcare Indusry
Foundation Upgrade Guide 7.14.

Intended audience
This document assumes that the installer has the following administration skills and capabilities:

Pega 7

n Find and update rule forms

n Use Pega 7 Import / Export Utilities

n Optionally, work with Windows BAT or Unix SH scripts

n Optionally, use the System Management Application

Prerequisites
Before you begin the HCIF installation process, verify that the following prerequisites have been met.

Database
Pega 7 is installed on one of the following databases:

n Oracle

n MSSQL

n DB2

n DB2 z/OS

n PostgreSQL

Pega 7
n Pega 7.1.8 is installed and verified.

n The highest Pega 7 ruleset version is 07-10-99.

Importing the application bundle


1. Log in to your Pega 7 system (http://hostname:port/prweb/PRServlet) using the following
credentials:

User Name administrator@pega.com


Password install

2. Select Designer Studio >Application >Distribution > Import.

3. Find the following file on the distribution media and click Next.
n Rules\AB_HCIF_714_for_Pega_71.jar

Once the file is uploaded, it needs to be imported.

4. From the Import Wizard tab, select the file and click Next.

Note: Do not select the Enable advanced mode to provide granular control over the
import process check box.

The Application Bundle contains database schema changes.

5. Choose the default Automatic option and click Next for the system to apply these changes
automatically.

The Import Wizard imports the application components in the bundle:

l Rules\AB_HCIF_714_for_Pega_71.jar
6. Click Next after each component is installed to advance the installation.

7. When the last component is installed, click Done to complete the installation.

Note: The number of records shown may be different for the application that you are installing.

Importing HCIF sample data


HCIF provides sample data instances for commonly referenced objects such as members,
providers, authorizations, and claims that are used to visualize business processes in the
foundation as well as other Pega healthcare applications.

Your media includes the following sets of sample data:

l Sample Data For commonly referenced objects such as members, providers,


claims, and authorizations

l Sample Codes Diagnosis codes and procedure code

l Sample Code Groups Pre-configured groupings of code ranges

To install sample data instances, repeat steps 1 to 7 in Importing the application bundle
on page 6 to load the following files from your distribution media in the order shown
below:

l \Resources\DataSamples\HCIF_714_Sample_Data.jar

l \Resources\CodeSamples\HCIF_714_Sample_Codes.jar

l \Resources\CodeSamples\HCIF_714_Sample_CodeGroups.jar

Verifying installed rulesets


The following lists the highest level ruleset versions loaded by the installation process. Verify that
your system includes these ruleset versions.

1. Log in to the system using these credentials:

User Name Administrator@myhealthplan


Password install

2. Select Designer Studio >Application >Structure >RuleSet Stack.

3. Verify that the following ruleset versions are listed:

l PegaHCLP:07-14-99

l PegaHC-SPM-Foundation:07-14-99

l PegaHC-PCS-Foundation:07-13-99

l PegaPCS-Foundation:07-13-99

l PegaHCEDI:07-14-99

l PegaHCAGM:07-14-99

l PegaHC:07-14-99

Enabling Elasticsearch
For faster performance in the Code Manager portal, Care Management Application uses the
Elasticsearch, which improves the code search in individual code sets. Before using the Code
Manager portal, you must index the sample data to view the sample code sets and code groups.

To enable Elasticsearch, re-index the Data and Work classes, as shown below.

Log in as Administrator@PegaHealthCodes to re-index. This enables re-indexing for data and work
classes only in the PegaHealthcodes layer. This step is mandatory so that you can view the codes in
the Code Manager portal.

Testing the sample data layer


The healthcare common object layer provides sample instances for commonly referenced healthcare
objects that are leveraged in business processes in HCIF as well as other Pega healthcare applications.

1. Log in to the system using these credentials:

Username: HCAdminUser@MyHealthPlan

Password: install

2. Verify that your initial view looks similar to the screen below.

The system displays the pre-configured objects and the number of instances
configured for each.

3. Click the Companies link in the main session frame or in the left navigation pane.

The system displays a list of sample data instances for companies.

4. Select ACME SYSTEMS in the list.

The system displays the Company (profile) screen for Acme Systems and provides
Edit company information for update.

5. Click Close to return to the company listing.

6. Click Close to return to the main portal.


Alternatively, you can test the creation of a new company instance by:
l Clicking Copy Company

l Selecting Create > Company

l Browsing other configured objects

To test the healthcare common codes layer of the foundation:

1. Log in to the system using these credentials:

Username: CodeManager@PegaHealthCodes

Password: install

2. Verify that your initial view is similar to the screen below.

3. Click the Code Sets link in the left navigation pane.


The system displays a list of pre-configured code sets.

4. Click the DSM link in the TYPE column.


The system displays a list of pre-configured instances for the code set.

5. Click Close to return to the main portal.

6. Click Close to return to the code set listing.

Note: HCIF includes sample data for the pre-configured code sets. Refer to the
Healthcare Common Codes Business Use Case Guide for details on loading your
own data into the code sets and creating new code sets.

You have validated the installation of the Healthcare Industry Foundation.

Configuring a ruleset for code groups

Configuring a ruleset for code groups


HCIF lets you create and maintain custom code groups that can be used in business processing, for
example, defining benefits.

Configuring sample code groups


HCIF includes the MyCustomRules ruleset with code groups samples as locked rulesets. To use these
code groups instances, add the MyCustomRules ruleset to the PegaHealthCodes application stack as
show below.

Configuring new code groups


To create new code groups in your implementation, configure an open ruleset version to hold the
instances of the code groups. Refer to the Healthcare Common Codes Business Use Case Guide for
additional details on code groups.

To configure a ruleset:

1. Log in to the system using these credentials:

2. Add the MyCodeGroups ruleset to the PegaHealthcodes application stack.

3. Select Designer Studio > Healthcare > Configuration to navigate to the


landing page.

4. Enter the MyCodeGroups ruleset and its version in the Code Group Settings as
shown below, and click Save.
