According to the movie Hotel Rwanda, there were two groups of people
fighting against each other. One side were Hutus while another one were Tutsis.
The situation that occurred in Rwanda was a war that Hutus tried to assault
Tutsis as much as they can. (History, 2009) While the destructive events
occurred, Paul the main character who was a hotel manager, tried as much as he
can to treat every people fairly, and his wife and family were also Tutsis. His
families were attacked by the Hutus, so he had to evacuate to his hotel. In that
time, the story indirectly expressed the mistake of the UNs peacekeepers that
they helped only other nationalities except Rwandan. As a result, more times
caused more deaths. The UNs peacekeepers unsuccessfully helped solving the
problem in Rwanda. However, Paul and his people were helped and taken care by
the group called RPF.

All of the situations in Rwanda mostly caused by Belgium. Before, Rwanda

used to be in controlled of Belgium. After, Belgium gave power and exclusive
privileges to Tutsis in order to rule the country. (BBC, 2014) To be considerable,
Hutus were the majority of the country, but all of the power were in Tutsis hand,
which made them angry at this. Hutus first were treated unfairly like clearly
separating social classes. While Hutus were suffered, Tutsis had more modern
and comfortable life. (BBC, 2014). After the assassination of the Hutus president
succeeded, Hutus people started the genocide. According to the movie, many
Tutsis were dead, and women were treated inhumanly. Although there were
many support from the UN and the French military, but it were not enough in
order to stop Hutus.

The UN organization was unsuccessful because of several problems. First

of all, there were too many Hutus, so the soldiers had less power to protect Tutsis
and other Rwandan. Because of this, in the movie, many of the UNs soldier
guards had to die without any benefits. The lieutenant had to suffer from losing
his people in the genocide for protecting Pauls people. The next reason is the
most important. UNs peacekeepers were not allowed to shoot if there were not
assaulted. This caused many stress events when there were Hutus surrounded
and they could do nothing but stay still.
